SUBJECT: The war with Rheinland.
Ladies and gentlemen of the Navy, today we have scored a complete victory over the Rheinland military forces. Our men and women fought with honor, bravery and dedication.
A Rheinland taskforce broke trough the defences near the Battleship Concord in New Hampshire, attempting to puch their way through to Quebec. Our defending forces responded quickly.
The LNS-San Francisco under the command of Captian Seth Karlo demolished the battleship sent, foolishly, by the RM to clear the way for the fighter forces. Karlo, under great pressure commanded his crew and ship with the skill and determination I have come to expect of the men and women of the Liberty Navy.
Disengaging and returning to a more standard pattern of patrol the San Francisco was barely damaged at all in the conflict.
Following this, a group of ten Rheinland strike craft under the command of Admiral Zirzow no less broke through the blockade at the Bremen hole and entered New Hampshire.
I was leading a combat patrol at the time acting in responce to the battleship incursion and swiftly intercepted them. Our men were outnumbered at the start by three. Our forces consisting of seven fighters of Guardian or Avenger class. The Rheinladers consisting of seven Wraith very heavy fighters
Composition of the forces and comm signatures were as follows.
[LN]-David.Hale - Guardian
[LN]-Ryan.MacTavish - Guardian Vessel Destroyed
[LN]-Will.Peters - Guardian
[LN]-Christina.Robinson - Guardian
[LN]-Ben.Dawson - Guardian
[LN]-Andy.Doggett - Guardian
[LN]-Kentaurus.Toliman - Avenger Vessel Destroyed
[LN]-Galen.Anderson - Guardian (Had to dock prior to any engagement due to technical difficulties)
The fight lasted well over an hour with seven of the ten Rheinland vessels being destroyed and the other three turning tale and running.
Losses on our side were minimal. Kentaurus Toliman was the subject of concentrated fire form the rheinlanders for some time and eventualy succumbed to their guns. However he showed a cool head under fire and evaded the considerable fire extremely well.
The second of our losses was Vice Admiral MacTavish who frustratingly ended up the target of one of my torpedos. The tracking mechanisms locking on to the wrong target. It must have been something of a shock to him and he has my appologies.
Towards the end of the fight myself and the Rheinland admiral squared off at one another and fought Guardian to Wraith for some time. My ship already heavily beaten from the fight I ran out of regens before he did. Engaging my cruise engines I drew myself away from the fight, leaving it in the capable hands of Christina Robinson, who quickly forced the remaining Rheinland strike forces to flee.
I include a few gun-cam shots captured by Lt. Ben Dawson during the battle.
Good work everyone. It was a pleasure to fly with you.
I would first like to congratulate all the officers in the battle of New Hampshire. Unfortunately, I was busy fixing control systems for Norfolk, so I was unable to respond to the incursion.
After fixing Norfolk's control systems and getting a good night's sleep, I got straight back onto duty. As I exited Manhatten's atmosphere, I came across three "Orcale's", who we'd had bad encounters with on previous occasions. --Secure Link--
I had a brief discussion with these Oracle fellas and found they wanted to "bring enlightenment to Sirius". That sounded like a dodgy excuse, so I ordered them out of Manhatten orbit - For the safety of the home planet. Just as made the order, an LSF agent buzzed over the comms that he was under attack at West Point. I immediately responded and found two hostiles attacking the agent. --Secure Link--
After a long game of cat and mouse, the Sabre was destroyed.
The Barghest was more annoying, however, as a barrage of paralyser missiles and nuclear mines made it difficult to get a lock on the monstrous ship. A Bounty Hunter came past and was obliterated almost instantly by the Barghest's weapons.
We eventually wore down the rogue and his ship was destroyed by a local freelancer, Saronsen.
A few minutes after the battle I was once again called back to Norfolk to conduct more repairs on her control systems.
Agent Jacob Hagel proved today the spirit of the Liberty - To protect our pristine space at whatever cost. He is a credit to the LSF and an excellent officer.
I knew I shouldn't take my chances with that one, I'm not ready to such a prowess, I'm not so skilled yet, and however, I tried it anyway.
The Rogue Gunboat, Dragons_fire, was spotted near to West Point, I took the trade lane there, and I found it. He was headed to Manhattan, and I chase him, he leaded me above the plane, something like 15-20k above Manhattan. It was clear to shoot, and I took my chances, but, I missed some SNAC shots, and his missiles were not missing at all. I left him with 20% of nanos and 0% of bats, but I was forced to retreat.
To be optimistic, at least I sent him to find some repairs.
I began my patrol today with a circuit of the Texas system. During my run, I linked up with several LSF agents along with the LNS Michigan. I also recieved reports of a possible Rheinland Military group heading into Quebec and New Hampshire. On the Lansing, we proceeded to the Battleship Alma to set up a defensive position.
At once, our scanner picked up one wraith, and suddenly a crusier and several more fighters arrived. With them forming into an attack position, I ordered the Lansing into battle status. Their fighters were deadly, and with their cruiser's jamming technology, we were unable to call for help. After a quick confrontation, our engines were disabled and we were forced to give into their demands by sending our communication logs over to them.
After our logs were transferred and the cruiser with its fighter escort left, we laid in a pursuit course after them once our engines were operational. We chased the fighters into New Hampshire and later into the ice field in the system where we lost them. After a few exchanges of words, the Rheinlanders left and we headed home.

While having some R&R in the bar of Battleship Mississippi there was a report of a lone Rheinland scout. even while half buzzed I volunteered to intercept, I undock and there he was, a Rhienland fighter 10k away from the battleship, after giving him multiple warning I lloaded my weapons and went in to engage, We started to have a little skirmish
After a while fighting I managed to launch a torpedo right into his starboard side, unfortunetly my ship was caught in the blast and I had to crash land on PLanet Houston. Luckily my ship was salvaged and repaired, and I did not sustain any damage.
I'll take this opportunity to present the new gunboat provided by Norfolk shipyard and equiped by Radford.
The [LN]-LNS-Chicago, a very fine piece of machine, carrying 3 Liberty turrets, 2 pulse cannons firing backawards, two battle razors, and the powerful Liberty main gun. I'm glad to announce, that this beatiful ship was entrusted to me, and I'll command it with honor, and fulfilling my oath to Liberty.
The Liberty Forces as well as the president came to a common agreement with the Mercenary movement of Liberty. To further help in the war effort and against criminals, the Government has accepted to lift the current Mercenary ban. A dangerous move some may say, since mercs have a bad habit of treachery sometimes.
With the current situation inside our space, Navies and diverse governmental agencies are putting their focus on the war with Rheinland, thus leaving the polices forces to do most anti-criminal tasks. With the help coming from "lawful" mercenaries, the level of security within Liberty will stay in line with its expected standards.
Any mercenary found betraying the government of Liberty will labeled as a criminal. Depending on the case, some of those turncoats may get a price on their heads. A small portion of the Liberty Security Force will keep gathering intelligence related to various mercs operating on the wrong side of the law, so they may be taken out before any civilian casualties occur.
