Doom did say it was possible for a second engine to be added, but everyone who owns a Greyhound would have to sell it, buy something else, and then rebuy the Greyhound. If they don't do it in that order the server will kick them for cheating.
You understood it a bit wrong, people can still keep flying the old one, but then it will have just one engine and look a bit weird, but they won't be kicked for cheating.
Doom was referring to the fact that when re-buying you can't just rebuy exactly the same ship, there needs to be one ship in the middle, else server kicks you automatically.
Greyhound should imo have 2 engines since all rogue ships have at least two (including pirate transport and pirate train). I don't see re-buying as a problem at all since we'r talking about a ship that costs some 1.8 million and since it's a fighter you can just use something like Dagger (for 40k) as the "transfer" ship. So the overall rebuy cost will be some 1.4 million max, which is like 2 minutes of trading with a big transport.
Igiss says: Martin, you give them a finger, they bite off your arm.
won't FLHook awesome-autocheat-detector be turned off for like the first month because some peoples' equipment might be exceeding the ship limitations? Also so that people can rebuy more easily.
Texture placement probably still needs a little refining, but at least I got the bulk of it done now.
Looks like a couple of objects (cones on the engines and forward fins) didn't render properly. Do you think this will effect what it will look like in game?
Last thing left to do is to make the hardpoints. I get the feeling I'll need more help with that.
Texture work looks a bit like the textures on the old Rheinland SHF in terms of quality, but I cant really say I'd do any better because I wouldnt know the first place to start.
Either way, if this makes it into 4.85 which I doubt due to the time, then it will probably get some alterations with your permission by someone who is more familliar with texturing and modelling.
But I like the general shape, and replacement idea for the greyhound, which I think really doesn't fit with the rest of the pirate line.

Now that I look at it the next day, it is pretty bad isn't it? You can clearly see which objects I textured first... but eh, what can you expect from a first try?
I doubt if it'll be ready for 4.85 either, although I am trying. If a more experienced ship developer offered to take it off my hands to finish it in time, I'd gladly hand it over to them.
Wow, I love it! Yes, the textures seem a bit stretched, but nothing that can't be fixed.
