Looks at the woman and laughs a little "Please i play 20 Questions and Follow the leader the only time i play 'Chicken' Is when they come into minor and Hotshot? I just like messing with people. By the way whats your name?"
While the barkeeper quickly flushed used glasses, his head down, he almost smiled. Then he gave the penumbrous room a short glance from below looking for someone in need of another drink. 'Nohing's really changed on Toledo since then', he told himself while putting the glasses slowly away, one by one. He hated unnecessary noise.
The bottle of "The One and Only Overdue Vintage" the dark-haired woman has almost emptied shimmered in golden green reflecting the tiny beams of the newer little brass plates on the wall. All of them were engraved with now almost forgotten names. Some carried only callsigns. He sighed in cotent as he watched her talking with the man who called himself Christopher, obviously forgetting the bottle. It was hard to get that stuff at reasonable prices, and it was even harder to bring greater stocks of it out to Minor, though he would do almost everything to shelter his guests between their assignments, but rare stuff remains rare.
He looked at the main wall ahead and started to scan the brass rows as if he could read the gravures. One row, then another, and another. While he was continuing, their golden light soon merged in his head with pictures of men and women who had been guests here too. Some for quite a while, but must of them just for less than a glimpse of this war. Though each of them had been handpicked, chances at any time stood worse than one in a hundred to celebrate more than one perhaps two anniversaries as Order member. He put himself together again, before his visions could gain the special, additional flavour he had experienced himself once and feared now to recur all to real, purple lightshow, cries, frenzy, last babbles, and then silence.
Slightly he shook his head. Then he pumped up the music of an unknown artist he accidently discovered on New London some years ago. No one ever heard of him or his music, but it seemed to be composed for places like this. The artist had called it "Tranquilizing Psychtrip Pop" . 'For what it's worth.' He has never been into categorizing art, but whatever this sound might be, it was soothing at least. 'First they need a drink or two, as always, then they'll get some rest, and perhaps even sleep', the barkeeper thought and left the room for a quick stock revision.
After he finished talking with the lady he moved on scanning all the faces to see if there were any new ones but there wasn't and moved to his usual spot where he could watch and study everyone.
Christopher Often had special ways to find out the new pilots personality was like, so far the woman was the serous type who rarely relaxes
It had been a while since she'd been in the bar, too long it seemed as she failed to recognise anyone there. So instead of finding a table she headed straight to the bar to find a drink.
'You got anything from Bretonnia' she asked, as she sat down wanting somethign from her old home

"I'm afraid my manners were never terribly refined and living here certainly hasn't improved the situation. How long have you had to suffer the the brashness of this area of space?"
And what brought a lady like this to such a rugged end of space, he wondered to himself.
'Too long, I reckon I'd be happier at home but that not going to happen anytime soon'
'What about you? you can't of been here to long, you still at least have some manners which is more than can be said for the rest of our lovely organisation'
Now that she had studied Will properly, she could unstand why he was confident he had that dashing look about him, something which certainly suited him from where she was sitting.
'Oh I almost forgot Mr Venture, please do join me I feel it would be impolite of me to keep you standing there'

"I have only been here several weeks myself. It hasn't been too radical a change for me, I was in training to become an officer of the BAF before I came here and much the same attitude exists among the pilots here, although I find one has to be slightly more careful of getting shot."
"So far I've found it fairly exciting though, which in all honesty is why I came here, it must seam strange to a lady such as yourself but the danger seems to call to me. But listen to me prattle on about myself, I've hardly given you the chance to get a word in edgewise. May I ask you why you are here in this foreboding area of Sirius?"
