After a long and arduous night of celebrating yet another successful run at one of Malta's raunchiest bars, the crew of the Finnegan's Wake crawled out into the Maltese sunrise, shielding their eyes from its intense orange glow.
While the sheer volume of intoxicants consumed would have been more than enough to kill even most Mollies, the Junker crew of the Finnegan's Wake were probably only due for a minor hangover. Of course, the night had presented itself with many opportunities at personal enrichment, and Bobby Murphy did not waste the opportunities that presented themselves (sometimes at the expense of his crewmates). He patted his pocket, expecting to feel the wad of cash that he had accumulated over the past several hours.
When it felt emptier than it should, he stuck his hand inside, where there were several solid rectangular objects and a larger, soft object (needless to say, Bobby often found it useful to have very large pockets). He grabbed a hold of the larger object and withdrew it. He unfolded the object, which turned out to be a rare Gaian 16-leaf clover. On it was written the following:
To the Captain and Crew of the Finnegan's Wake:
For the heroic act of bringing thousands of civilians away from a life of corporate slavery to a world where the word "poverty" is unknown, you are hereby awarded the Immigration Medal. In your pocket are enough ribbons for every member of the crew, including Captain Finnegan and yourself.
Of course, I took the liberty of making room for the awards. Drinks aren't free, you know. Check your other pocket to find out that your coins have been exchanged for medals.
But I digress. Be sure to deliver this message, the medals, and the ribbons to Captain Finnegan. He will almost certainly be glad to receive them.
P.S. My contacts in the LPI thank you for your courtesy in working with them to achieve a better Sirius. They also pass along their gratitude for the new leather seats.
I was carrying cardamine inbound to rochester base when i was stopped by a navy officer at Planet Mojave. After fighting for quite some time, a wreckless bounty hunter, William Carson, showed up... I shot the hunter down just as fast as the got there, and then destroyed the LSF officer John Snow on the other side of the jumpgate in New York.
After relieving the last of SS-Farragut's hold of its human cargo, the ship's quartermaster conducted one final walkthrough of the ship's storage areas to make sure that there were no stragglers hiding among the crates and equipment.
Sure enough, he spotted a pair of feet sticking out from under some equipment.
"Hey, get up! What do you think this is, some sort of hotel?"
The dockmaster slid the baton out of its holder on his belt and made his way to the straggler. He lifted it up as he stepped around the corner.
The baton clanged to the floor as he read the tatoo inscribed on the corpse's body:
"To the captain and crew of the SS Farragut: You have overcome the odds and fought for what is right. You have saved the lives of thousands from a fate worse than death, and kept from death thousands more whose lives depend on the medication which you transport at risk to yourselves and your ship.
We are proud to award you the first-ever Order of Thermopylae.
Additionally, we award you the Immigration and Pharmaceutical Medals.
The medals, in addition to the monetary awards, will be found inside the body cavity of this former Bounty Hunter (he murdered numerous passengers by leaving them in space after "saving" them from a "slaver").
We look forward to continued reports of your accomplishments.
My apologies, I was caught up with managing the business. It seems my secretary didn't include the full contact details, is that right? I have included them at the end of the message.
It is important to note that Ms. Smokkelarr did in fact change from a Plain Train to a Borderworlds Transport During her cardimine run.
It is my hope that she will be found worthy of award. If so. Please send all proceeds to Sasha.Smokkelarr
