Nice vid grimly, but not really showing you or bomber tactics at all. Just a fighter quite well flown in a fight against the cap. Nice support the fighter gave you guys. Taking on the fighters harassing the bombers and pouring fire on the BS. That's about all you can really do in a fighter.
I know you Grimly are a good bomber pilot.
I wonder why the Thunderbolt even targetted the fighter.
And Fred did a good job reducing one bomber while the fighter was on his tail all the time. Excellent job Fred on escort.
I wouldn't necessarily say that Battleships suck... though I am another one of the people on the server who choose not to have one. Hell, the largest thing I've flown was a Corsair toolbox about two years back, I wasn't any good with it.
I'm a fighter pilot. LFs, HFs, Bombers, etc. I agree with Jinx that capital ships have a rather difficult learning curve, though I also believe that everyone has their own skill in different ships. There are some people who are naturally better with battleships than others. Like a friend of mine here, who says that he's great with a BS (and has proved it on about a billion occasions), but has trouble with most fighters.
It depends on your fighting style, I think. If you've been flying and fighting with fighters and bombers for all of your time here, and suddenly switch to a battleship, it's going to take some time to get used to the difference in movement and fighting style.
Well, seeing as I enjoy flying caps more than the smaller ships I guess I should post here.:)
it`s already been said: flying a cap requires so much more time to learn than a fighter/bomber. people who look at the stats and think "wow, I`m invincible" and just sit there taking abuse don`t know what a cap is about. a BS is FAR from invincible. It needs to dodge, keep moving and its pilot should consider target priority. how often have I seen a bs change targets 10 times when in battle...
a Rheinland BS is just... a poor choice of BS imho. no offense to TS but it`s fat, big, and slow. no wonder it gets eaten. a rheinland BS needs an escort more than any other BS in the game I daresay. if it has a capable escort wing however, it`s a fearsome enemy.
a BS is great for RP. a BS is NOT great to fight bombers or fighters. don`t deal with them if possible. consider fairplay. and yes, it can mow bombers down when equipped correctly. but when another BS shows up...
they aren`t omni-potent like people tend to believe.
a BS is best when it has an escort or a anti-bomber cap with it.
they don`t suck, they are just harder to use effectifly.
but who cares? I don`t mind being blown up occasionally if that what it takes to fly/rp in a BS.

and no, battleships arent crap. each has their own uses. for example, the osiris is small and agile, and does a good job at dodging and running and hitting, while ships like the RH bs are good for just sitting and taking hit after hit while dishing out big amounts of damage. a lone battleship -obviously- wont have any chance against 3 bombers. duh. this is why you need to have a mix of at least 1 escort + flaks/bs secondary turrets.
i dont agree with you saying that battleships are useless, becuase they arent. while i dont agree to cap spam, i also dont agree to such posts that blatently say: ''dont fly caps, you'll suffer!'' becuase i fly -alot- of battleships and am fine with em, even if they are the longest or epically huge (spyglass, nommie bs [at times, avoid flying it], lib dreadnought, lib carrier, oc bs, dreadnought, legate, etc.)
plus, Liberty and Rhienland are nearly at war, and i know once liberty declares it, there will be alot of lolwutting Lib bc's headin to rhienland. im sure the RM would have appreciated the help from a good RPing RM 'admiral' to help against the libertonian invading forces. but there again, a battleship isnt for everyone i guess.
Thats what I do...before i buy the ZONER Juggernaght, im testing it first (however i tested it already but not fully). Its a waist of 800mill on a BS that you have bought then you want to sell it after the first week, (example: Lt Colonel John Sheppard, test it on SP before you buy it!)
Because I'm afraid the new rebalances are rather annoying, pissy and generally, bothersome. I was happy with the previous battleship systems. If it was meant as a boost somehow... I'm not sure how.
Before, you had to use of skills and tactics to kill a battleship.
Now, you can finish one in a matter of seconds with a couple of well placed heavy weaponery with flashy blue effect.
