only problem with local chat is it forces us into visual range of whoever we're talking to, and most people go "lolnomadlover, pewpewpew!" and start shooting at us.
I'll tell everyone to tone things down a little, but we're going to continue using system chat.

Another point, we're using forced system-wide transmissions for these preachings, you're meant to feel a bit uncomfortable and you're meant to hear when you dont want to. That's how religious conversion works! =P
In-RP, these transmissions are sent out across an entire system, to every possible receiving target, in order to get the 'word' out to as many people as possible. Even though 99% of the populace may regard us as lunatics or just ignore our preaching, the 1% that does listen is the 1% that we're targeting with these speeches.
Here's how the Xenos got away with it. We were partial to spending a long while in local spewing out our two cents. We threw down our bit of RP, had some fun back and forth, and then culminated it with some fisticuffs or ensuring that we were in a local from which we could be spotted and dealt with.
We did not fly 200k above the horizon in some random location to therefor after flood the system with comm chatter, threats, jibes and so on without providing a means by which that situation might resolve itself one way or the other.
End result? No complaints.
The idea that you might end up getting snuffed out for your actions being the reason why you wish to abstain from being more selective in choosing your audience is, to be honest, not a satisfying answer.
In my experience, its at most 20 minutes. Unless its not just preaching but a discussion. For instance, I spent a good time in Bretonia talking to people in system chat, But they were talking back and it was 3 or 4 of them.
So if you don't like it when other people have conversations, is it really fair to ask them to go away or shut up? when all you have to do is type /ignore Oracle|Name. That really isn't hard at all, we do our thing, you do yours. Theres no legitimate reason to complain here.

I"ve spread out my oracles now, we have one covering gallia, one in liberty, one in rheinland, one in kusari, and one in bretonia. This should be much more effective.
And none in hispania? Considering we have had the most contact with nomads preaching enlightenment i'm somewhat supprised you havent tried Gamma or Alpha.
I havn't been on my oracle much lateley - I've been busy on other files, But I might consider alpha/gamma. If I'm allowed of course. However, I doubt either of them would enjoy a good preach.

Patience, we only have a handful of members right now, I do plan on moving futher into the borderworlds at a later time.
Those of us who end up being more nomad-oriented will move on to alpha and try to gain followers from the outcasts, while those of us who focus more on the daam k'vosh and their artifacts will deal with gamma.
