After thinking about it, then thinking about it again, longer... I came up with the following:
Gaian-Corsair Alliance?
1. Outcasts would eradicate Gaians who have been indifferent to their drug smuggling for decades
2. Gaians are like the Lane Hackers in Liberty - they are the intellectual elite with separate goals from mere pirates.
3. The Gaians were founded by people from Cambridge. Cambridge suffers most from Corsair attacks, and Gaians are still a Bretonian faction. They would rather hold a grudge against the Corsairs for attacking Cambridge supply lines every so often.
Right, I know Igiss "makes" the game, all respect to that. Still, what is your (on-topic, serious, perhaps intelligent) opinion?
I might have skipped some important part of the lore or something...
Ultimately all things have the potential for change.
Personally as an ex-Gallic Gaian, I could care less for the Corsairs and their war. Not every faction has to take a position in the Corsair/Outcast war.
Unless Gaians use Corsair space to get at the Sigmas - there is no point having the alliance. If Gaians can use it to get into the Sigmas they can hit OSC in s-19, and the GMG Terraforming in Okinawa (which I am sure their Hogosha allies would love!).
I would be interested in seeing Gaians go 'global'. Hitting out at places like Cali Minor.
One could see a Gaian ZOI extending 'inland' to California, rather than skirting the edges of Sirius as it does now.
It would suggest an alliance more with Hackers then Corsairs - and give added urgency to the Treaty of Curacao.
As it is currently, the ties are partially linked through mutual allies. Note that all four of these are allied with each other, but this will kind of show the chain that connects them.
Remember that just because the are "allies" doesn't mean that everyone knows they are. And not all alliances are of the same strength. For example, currently the Hogosha have a much stronger tie to the Corsairs than the FA does. Both are allies of the sairs, but in different ways. The Hogosha tie to the Corsairs is much more open and obvious thanks to the artifact trade, but your average Kusari citizen may not know anything about the Farmer's Alliance being friends of the Corsairs.
While the Gaians, Corsairs, and their allies know about their dealings together, many factions wouldn't have a clue about it.
Their original alliance was most likely formed by a mutual enemy, Bretonia. The Gaians are Bretonian but they are more often then not hunted by Bretonian authorities as they are largely viewed as terrorists. In these situations you could see how the Gaians and Corsairs could end up fighting side by side against the Bretonian Armed Forces as the Corsairs are constantly pirating in that area. One thing leads to another, and you have an alliance.
I'm not sure I see why the Gaians wouldn't be adverse to everything but corsairs in that area.
Mollys are miners.
Bounty Hunters - thats obvious.
Planetform - obvious
OS&C - tourist trade
BMM - miners
The Bretonian law enforcement agencies - obvious again.
Outcasts/Blood Dragons/GC - I would imagine the Gaians alliance with the Hogosha/Farmers will affect their relationship with the latter two. The Outcasts on the other hand possibly have no 'direct' influence in this but theres a lot of Outcast allies on the Gaians enemy list.
Secondly, theres a lot of enemies of the Corsairs in that lot. In fact they all are. That might explain a closer tie to Crete and also the Outcasts position on their relationship with the Gaians.
Just some thoughts on it

Except for the Gaian's flying funboats...
But seriously, I think Gaians are one of the factions in danger of just being kind of consumed by their allies, be they corsair or kusari.
Like, you always see the AFA and Hogosha just hanging out together these days. If the Rheinland unlawfuls were ever active, they'd probably all just be hanging out together too. The corsair alliance isn't something that defines the gaians; its something that pushes them in to obscurity.
I think this is a case where economic, political and military "alliance" has to be defined.
Not all alliances are full-on ones. Many are focused in a particular area.
The Gaians might report Outcast and Bretonian movements to the Corsairs. Give them covert resupply points while not actually "militarily" allying with them.
Corsairs might provide commodities needed and be indifferent to their eoc-cause...not caring a whit about it.
Lets make a list, this is just off the top of my head
Outcast allies:
Blood Dragons
Golden Chrysanthemums
Liberty Rogues
Lane Hackers
Mollys
Red Hessians
Corsair allies:
Gaians
Hogosha
FA
Order
...
Unioners?
Okay... Order aside none of those Corsair allied factions really have a large player base. Each has its' own respective faction... but there aren't that many indies for each of them, especially not when compared with Outcast allied player bases.
My point is, can the Corsairs really afford to lose another ally? It might not make much sense... but there's got to be a reason for it.
Now, I don't mean to attack you or anything, but did you even read up on Gaian lore before you posted this thread? Like, researched rumors and base info cards and stuff? There's bound to be something that explains the link between the Corsairs and the Gaians. Cause by the looks this thread is just based off your own opinion...
1. Blood Dragons are not on the Outcast ally list any longer. They are now neutral to unfriendly.
2. The Unioners are certainly not allied to the Corsairs either. They are also neutral to unfriendly.
3. There is little to no reason why the Mollys and Red Hessians are on the Outcast allies list, but of course the logical arguments behind changing that are ignored.
4. The Gaians are allied to the Corsairs for the sole argument of Corsairs lacking allies... so instead of making up ridiculous alliances for Corsairs how about removing a few of the nonsensical Outcast allies instead? What do Gaians have to do with Artifacts anyways...
5. Don't even get me started on the sillyness of the Corsair - Order alliance...
And also remember player factions do not reflect the entirety of a npc faction.
