A few days ago, I went to Omicron Minor with my eagle BH char.
I met one order guy, with dual Sw/Cb. I wasted almost all my cds and cms fighting him (stupid me, I should run in circles until he fires all his missiles.... yeah... that's a really good tactic....), I made him run out of missiles, and then I won that one. But, just after him, 2 more order guys with another dual Sw/Cb came to me, and without CDs or CMs, it didn't last much, they spammed me to death.
I use missiles though (zeinstruktor made this thread after fighting with me and my Cball), but in the past you have to had some timming to fire them well, and a nice combination of CD/Missile. Right now it's just face the enemy, fire them, watch the enemy die.
Well, not just after I fought you, casero, there have been many other incidents before it.
Alright, it was me against casero. I was creaming him when he was using all guns only, managed to take out 40 of his bots without losing a single one myself. Then, when he started using his cannonball, out of about... 20 shots or so, only about 5 missed. He won the fight without losing anymore bots because of that.
Now, do you think a cannonball should provide such a great advantage?
To test some more, I jumped in my Fafnir (Yes, you heard right.) and set up a training battle with a friend of mine in a Wraith; which got buffed, by the way.
I had two debs, a Starkiller, CD, SN. He had full debs, a Sidewinder, and a CD. My massive shields helped, but he could easily wittle me down and then lob Sidewinders at me. Twice I detonated them in his face to knock his armor down by a large chunk, and the other times I could get rid them fairly easily. He got enough hits on me to deal some damage and blow one turret off, but I could even joust and pull out to dodge them in a Fafnir. Those are Sidewinders.
We ended up running out of weapons and spamming mines to end it, but the point is, how are they hard to dodge? If someone has a Cannonball and I'm lazy, I'll take some heavy damage before wising up, but if I use my head or my CDs at all, there's no issue. I'm not that great at PvP, trust me, so I'm at a loss for these comments.
Well, the reason I'm saying that they're bugged is because...
I can dodge FIRESTALKERS more easily than cannonballs. These things can be fired at a range of 100m, and still hit. There's no chance in hell you can do anything to dodge them, or CD them for that matter, at that range. They just have insane tracking/acceleration. In 4.84, you could actually dodge them. The infocard shows no change in tracking, so I'm assuming it's a bug.
No idea, man. I deal with those everyday in Liberty and have an even easier time dodging them or CDing them (which is awesomely in my favor). If they fire at 100m? They get splash damage with me 90% of the time.

It just feels like that if I don't mount a missile... I'm not going to be able to win any fights any more...
I'm noticing a huge gap in the tactics to employ between 4.84 and 4.85 simply due to the new missiles. It's going to take a good deal of getting used to, I've been losing every fight as of late due in part to this and in part to the fact that I keep getting reverse-thrust bugs (Reverse Thrust stays active if I release it and tap the thruster at the same time, making me zip around at a grand 100m/s when I need all the speed I can get.)
If you keep jousting someone with missiles, it is normal for you to lose your equipment in short time. Missiles are okay at the moment, no need to worry for them. Its a fact that altering your flight stance is a necessity depending on your opponent's armaments.
I have scored hits with Cannonballs on people at near-vertical angles in combat. I have fired missiles, thought "oops, that was bad timing, no way it's gonna hit", then seen the target's hull drop. I think this indicates something is up with the tracking...
