Applying to an official faction

So your new to the server and/or new to RP and you wish to join an official faction? Here's some quick tips to get you started.

* Introduce yourself in the forum and participate in the community by posting in threads in a polite and adult manner.

* Dont try to join an official faction straight away, get to know the server and observe the official factions in their roles.

* When applying to join an official faction make an effort. Whats needed is a name for your char, a background that makes sense to the faction you wish to join. Look at the recruitment threads for the faction you wish to join and look back at succesful applicants and take note of the effort made.

* Create an indy char of the faction you wish to join and RP and fly with your prospective faction.

* Combat skill is less important than strong roleplay, both can be taught and learned but it's roleplay that will get you in the door.

* Have patience, recruitment can take awhile as recruitment officers have lives.

And that's it, don't be upset if you are declined, spend a little more time on the server. Many people have put alot of effort into their factions and are highly unlikely to recruit an unknown and unproven player who may disgrace their faction and may have to be removed later.

Just a quick note, there are a few factions that will happily take a player starting totally from scratch. The Liberty Rogues are one. However we are looking for players who will adhere to faction rules and are willing to learn the ropes of both the LR and the server.

One thing we pride ourselves in the Rogues is taking new players and educating them enough to get by in other factions and Discovery as a whole.
