'The weapon isn't overpowered, you're the one under-skilled !' - type of argument that will appear in most balance discussions, and it isn't exactly a bright one.
I know how to aim the SN, I've had some pretty ridiculous killing sprees on my bomber chars, but that doesn't change the fact that I couldn't have done it so fast, or at all - in a fighter. A bomber has a long life spam, if the pilot is skilled enough. Even a good fighter will lose his patience, when his weaker colleagues fall to the insta-power of the SN, and the enemy gets the bots/batteries off them.

This I agree with, but only if the engagement is 3v3 or less. A bomber can get a large killing spree with the use of an SN only with that condition, otherwise it takes too much damage from fighters and dies pretty fast. Fighters have pretty poor survivability against bombers, it has to be said, but the larger the engagement gets, the less survivability the bombers have. The nomad bomber is the only exception I think, because of its size. Even so, the nomad bomber pilots that get the kill streaks do so with dual nomad torps, not the nomad SN.
Let me give you an example. I went to the first fight between the Hogosha and the GMG/Dragons in Okinawa in my Corsair Gladiator. I did pretty well. If I had been in a Praetorian, I can assure you that the weight of numbers of the GMG and the Dragons would have flattened me in no time. In the gladiator however, I was able to survive until the end and garner a reasonable amount of kills.
I disagree with the arguement that bombers are still the anti-everything in combat. In smaller engagements, gunboats can be brought up to fight them. In larger engagements, the sheer weight of fighters can crush them. Both counters require the pilots to be reasonably skilled and to know what they're doing, which isn't always the case. Plenty of fighter pilots don't know their left from right, and just as many gunboats choose to fight in turret mode without strafing, making them easy prey for nova torpedos.
As a result, I think the "Practice more, get better and stop complaining about balance" saying applies here. If it isn't bright, well, mkay, but its true.
well its all about the skills of the pilots involved... I think that a good fighter pilots against a good bomber pilot one on one . the Fighter have the advantage.. The speed and agility give him the upper hand.
The SNAC is a great weapon and i would not change one thing about it.
only thing i would change about the SN is the range. it's a bit excessive considering there's nothing else that can reach them that far away other than Battleship primaries.
I suspect that's been done on purpose so that capital ships are forced to bring support instead of going lone-ranger. The whole balance structure for capital ships is supposed to make small escort/attack craft crucial to their survival.

Furthermore, at range, snacs are rather easy to dodge.

not really. theres only 1 person who uses dual nomad torps, the rest use the nomad supernova + cd/nomad torp, and score equal, or greater number of kills. the dual nomad torp wielder gets loads of kills becuase the pilots he fights have no clue how to fight (no offence) against a bomber.
the nomad bomber takes enough hits in furballs, but the only reason they like every other bomber last so long is because instakilling fighters/bombers gives an endless supply of b/b, which allows them to repair their hull indefinitely till they either win/get instakilled/ lose equipment due to torps, mines, or missiles.
having played freelancer after a a 2 month break, i scored 4 kills in 2 minutes. how? the LF didnt dodge, the upholder had long turns in EK, and the 2 roc's flew in straight lines never strafing. then i fight a guardian who knew how to counter me, and teh only way he died was by flying into my mines (after taking gun damage) by accident.

Mon'Star loses out again....double dang!

if your trying to fire at the source of the SN it blends in with your fire. don't realize it's coming until your shield starts to drop
