We are reaching a stage where this server is full on many days, for hours. I've been toying with the idea of having a ... "sister-server". But, there's no point in making "another disco 24/7 RP", instead I was thinking the sister server would be disco 24/7 PVP.

Basically it'd be an identical server, possibly set up by copying the standard server's database so people will get their ships and cash moved over. Piracy, war, and trade - all would exist on the new server, but with none of the RP regulations.

If the server was to "split" like this, into a PVP and an RP server (and you had all your characters on both servers for a limited time) - where would YOU chose to play?

you STILL have to trade a crapton to get ships.

you STILL have to get the right reps and such

and then you don't have anyone to shoot because they're all trying to log into the main server to hang out with their friends.

Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. :(

RP, there is many great PvP'rs on the server, what keeps Disco fresh is RP, if you are here to just PvP then kindly leave.

I think there was PvP Disco server, long before my time. At least I heard that, and I also heard that it died because of lack of people.

These days though, we see a lot of people on the RP server, which are not willing to RP, or dont know what RP is at all. This PvP server might be something like garbage bin for these people, BUT, most people choose server depending on amount of people playing on it. People attract more people. I think the PvP server would die again, because most new people would go on the RP server, even when they dont know what RP is, just because there is more players.

Alternatively, we could start transferring non-RPers to the PvP server instead of sanctioning them :lol:

I've heard that this happened before and it didn't work.

I think we should devote our current resources into taking into action one of the plans that the admins came up with (Double Sirius Server or something)

We used to have a PvP server.
Many of the other main Freelancer mods are PvP servers.

Discovery RP is the most popular server.

That has to speak for it's self.

I wouldn't spend most of my time on one, but if you made it easy to buy big ships on it, then I might visit every so often.

Just for fun and some random flying. As I mentioned before, it could serve as a place to dump all those Irefuzetoarrpee guys too.

I think there are more important things to waste dev time on, so it wont happen in the nearest future.

Odd poll for people that chose to spend a lot of time on the server called Discovery RP 24/7. I would never, ever stay this long on any other server, any other kind of game. I was never hooked on something this much as I'm hooked on Disco and I have only RP to thank for that.
