I didn't have any expectations going into the game. I didn't follow it or let the hype build the game up for me, I learned that from the first Fable. If you let the Fable games hype you up too much with their promises of the best game ever, then of course you're going to be disappointed. But when you don't have any expectations then the game is awesome.
I got the game without a clue what it was. (For Xbox 360. No, you can't maul me for that.) No high expectations to bring back down to Earth, which I suppose as Nighthawk said is a good thing when you're looking at a new game.
I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the game was, in terms of plot. It sent shivers down my spine at parts, the kind you get from everything fitting in place so snugly, so rightly. (Or maybe that's just me.) All in all, I loved it, despite it being over very quickly. Best to end something soon rather than stretch it out painfully, I suppose.
Anyway, thumbs up to it, I say. Here's hoping there'll be a third, although hopefully a long time from the present setting in the game, as with the time lapse between I and II.
THEY TOLD ME I COULD BE ANYTHING SO I BECAME A SIGNATURE PLS HLP
I loved Fable 1 and the lost chapters regardless of unfulfilled promises of absolute freedom and such. The plot was great as were the characters. Combat was just fine as was the world. No real 'mehs' on my side.
Fable 2.. Great, loved it. Played my disc grey on the 360. Customizing your character, balancing looks with powers and skills (huge strength and skill look weird on a female character. You get this tall giant like creature) and the dog, oh the dog. I never could get myself to continue playing after I decided to go 'ultimate sacrifice' at the end. Fable 2 is just not fable 2 without the dog.
Also the fact that you could get children in part 2 was cool. Though, the only time I could get more than one was when the xbox went all overheat on my ass and started messing things up. A save reload would still show both children but one wouldn't be 'yours' even though it'd still call you daddy and all.
And my disc was kinda screwed sadly, from when I bought it. Trouble loading on occasion, and small things like your child becoming immobile and unresponsive on occasion when you entered your home area (idyllic farm <3)
