Any who, I reckon whoever said that wrecks should reset randomly was closer to the mark. It would slow harvesting and make them rarer. It would also spread them out across the player base.
Each wreck should randomly reset itself, once every 24hrs.
I know it's probably impossible, but I think that would be the best way.
' Wrote:Im not saying anything about making them rarer, just not changing the current reset times(after server shutdowns), because, from what i have seen and found, is that you can do all the wreck camping you like, you will only end up with a couple of codes and some very dissapointed and often angry people around you. The arms dealers who have managed to collect dozens of codes and who you can have some very fun RPing with should not be cast aside just because some people want some archangels without having to work for them!
i have bought 95% of the codes i have in my store right now. and many dealers do the same, buying guns from other people, which promotes RP in alot of ways.
forum RP.
trading RP(if you charge a large price, then they will have to trade, which means more chance for interaction.)
just being in game to deal/buy guns.

How is camping wrecks a part of RP. A pilot selling a rare codie he found while being chased by nomads in the edge worlds is RP, sure. But people somehow dealing in guns by camping at random spots waiting for weapons to mysteriously appear, exists out of the role playing environment.
I support this wreck reset idea. There is no RP to be had waiting at wrecks. You can't talk it up by claiming you are scavenging through debris fields looking for rare parts, because you aren't: You log in quickly at a reset and make a shot, nothing more.

This is what i mean by weapons dealers RP, it benefits everyone.
And my point about the codes which are MEANT to be rare still stands!
I agree that it's unfair that only people who live in the right time zone get the chance to loot some codes, but on the other hand, I never quite understood what the deal with codes is. The lvl 9 faction guns work fine as far as I can tell and I've never had problems taking down a ship carrying codes while I was using my faction's guns.

It should in theory be against the rules because it is a) absolutely out-of-roleplay and b) abuse of game mechanics. I support prohibiting wreck camping (not that we need any more rules, but this one cannot be accidental). In fact, I reckon that a bit of surveillance would expose an existing rule being broken, which is not a ruling that I want to detail either. What I'm saying is, if I were in a position to lay down the rules, I would be coming down very hard on people that are abusing this (which is moot since I'm not in such a position, but you get my point). No offence to hard-working weapon dealers, but I just don't support it. In fact, I have never even bought a special gun simply due to my disagreement with the practices preceding it, let alone the price.
