Just a thought, with liberty in war with Rheinland and still with need to have naval forces at alaska, and some independent systems (magellan, kepler......) the need for more frontline troops have emerge.
Searching throu the low levels of their prisons liberty put togheter a motley collection of scum, some
joining freely rather than stay in prison while others are drafted by force, all having a surgical inplanted
bomb (so no one get the thought of running away, or turning on thoose they are ment to fight for).
This rag tag team of Rogues, Xenos, hackers, outcasts, captured Rheinland navy, blood dragons, or what you can think might be in a prison in liberty, shall now fight for liberty under the 13th Penal Divisions banner.
(Maby under the command of a ruthless Liberty Navy Officer who, by some bad luck have been
in the High Commands thought when deciding leader of their new expendable Division)
[anyone volunteering] ?
(Need some thoughts, maby officers in the Penal can be ordinary navy guys and rest scum.
And of course there will be some differes amongs the soldiers, like maby one rogue and a OC dont really like beeing in the Xeno squad. Or the capured Rheinland military dont like shooting his old friends.)
Is this worth trying to get a good story to, and even make reality in the world of disco? :)
i would need some deeper tought, but somehow i like the ID, its shure fun to roleplay a former Pirate, how shoots first, the shoots a little more, until his officers disciplines him, and starts asking some questions.
Sreading bad language over the comms, and gettng shot buy his former friends. could be intersting.
I don't know how the balance is currently between the Libertonian and the Rheinland militaries, but I like the principle. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun, especially if you don't mind fighting against huge odds and getting blown up (which is half the fun of fighting, in my opinion).
How about class 8 and 9 shields only, and weeker armor, the 1,9 for example, mischiefs are shurle not given toprate equipment, and are to die first in combat.

Yea, cause which high command would place alot of founds in a penal division so equipment and ships should not be of "top class". And of course if it is to unbalanced with players to be a Liberty penal division sure one can change and let it be a rheinland, (thou i like the idea with a liberty more).
Some hard officers and and gang of scum they can sacrifice gladely on whatever daring mission, or
first wave attacks the high command wants. Sure it will be some disput amongs the soldiers, but
in the end they follow orders (heck who would not with a bomb inside you, and an officer who just
think of you as expendable).
A dirty dozen! I love it! They could be used as cannon fodder at the start of some great battles! Or for some black ops with low survivability rate, as in Dirty Dozen movie?
I think this may actually work better from the Rheinland side of things. They seem to be the ones 'losing' the war at the moment, and the prisoners have the added incentive of getting out of Vierlande for a little bit.
But, who knows, I could be completely wrong.
