good ide but i will caus more problems then it solws. any real RP will tell the smugler how docked to a lawful base that he is braking the roles and if he dosent replay and come out whit the cargo the file a vilatinreport.
' Wrote:True ... but what do you do with the lulwhutting lawful that waits by the docking ring and uses the command at first sight of a smuggler ... or anyone else for that matter? So we trade one lulwhutting non-role playing player for another. Instead of the lulwhutting smuggler ... we get a lulwhutting LPI.
Why... you are correct... and then you look for a merc or a "corrupt cop" who is willing to lol-kabooom that lolwhut out of space. see m8, if your sole purpose in a smugglar run is to get to point B ASAP so you can make money, in my opinion you are missing the point.
Any how just to provide you a more refined solution, please read my futile attempt of a 3 step solution below:
-------------
1. We can probably say that the base becomes hostile if the player shoots at it, meaning only CAPS will perform that task and will have to move away and reset every time they do that considering those NPC dreadies pack a power punch. (we will need NPC Dready routes around major planets)
2. We should however expect the smugglar to find either an alternate location to dump the goods or and wait out for 4 hours before reattempting a speed dock on the same site. If he hasn't RP'd a surrender and waited around to dock for the mooring tree to come up. Any players around the planet will assist in taking him down but will not pursue if he makes a hasty retreat, aka more than radar distance away from the planet;15k). The other players will also stop attacking once CAP has come back and assumed its role as the gate keeper. Remember, CAPS can not stop you if you are smuggling. they can only disrupt.
Last but not least, the commodity file will have to be updated to find alternate locations for some items that only have one good destination.

Let me know what you think. :o)
PEACE
Edited: Another Idea:
may be make the mooring as such so it takes atleast a light mortar to bring it down. Fantastic recharge of health would also make bombers ineffective against it aswell.
and I am sure you havent seen to many lolwhut cappers lately....(ofcoarse in this scenario, locals dont go hostile.
@ pipsqueak: *sigh* ... pip ... did you read all my posts or just this one? If not ... then please don't chime in with "you missed the point." I get tired of hearing that ... and I get tired of saying that to others. For one ... my smuggler doesn't travel to Manhattan that much ... when he does ... he usually has "legal" goods. But you're gonna still have the lulwhutters type this command when they see the "Smuggler ID" ... regardless of the cargo you carry. Anyway ... tazuras and I have already worked out alternatives. Let me know when you catch up on your reading.
