The original 'Silent Hill' ...t'was the most disturbing bit of goodness that 1999 produced all year
Incidentally, there is an air-raid siren tower 10 feet from my back yard, & on the first Wednesday of every month when they crank it on for a maintenence run, the high volume always makes me jump, but that passes in an instant. It's the almost identical sound it shares with the one in the game that forces a cold & lingering chill up my spine every four weeks.
Starcraft - Look at my avatar. D:
Total Annihilation - First 3d RTS ever, and bloody brilliant. I still play it today.
Diablo - One of the first games I played when I finally had my own computer. I remember spending so much time on this game, it eclipses what I've spent on Discovery Freelancer the past two years.
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 & 3: Oh lord, I have them installed, right now.
Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries: I remember walking up behind my brother playing this, drawn by the sounds of combat and the epic music. I ninja'd the disk after he finished the game and never gave it back.
System Shock II: Bloody brilliant game. Honestly one of the few games that was able to scare me.
Alien vs Predator II: One of the best games. ever. Survival with 16 people is -such- a blast.
"Freelancer Alpha dash niner, this is Freeport 7 control, You are cleared for departure. Good luck out there."
Soldato Zavier Benitez, Benitez flight instructor.
Goldeneye on the 64. Dang if that game ate a chunk of my life. One of the best games of all time.
Diablo 2 ate a vast chunk too... Where I discovered multiplayer, and discovered that going to bed at 8am has side effects.
Rollercoaster tychoon.
Deus Ex.
Zelda 1 and zelda 3. Both amazing games. First game I played was 1, favourite zelda game is 3.
Baldur's gate 1+2+expacs. Loved those games, seriously good fun, and good story to 'em too. Also, nothing as fun as having an epic magic battle with a demi-lich. Or going back to baldur's gate 1 after completing throne of baal and playing through again.
