Our =BSG= Allies require our assistance. On Feb. 10 and 11, they will be assisting in a mass transport of goods through several areas in Bretonia to Tau-31.
They have fought bravely along with us, and at their moment of great need, the South Alliance is NOT one to abandon them.
I have already contacted the President of the 12 Colonies via the secure channel in hopes that he will accept the SA's assistance.
With this in mind, I strongly encourage all to check their Sector-Wide broadcast, and take a VERY close look at the rules of the RP event. I expect EACH and EVERY one of you to follow these rules and regulations to the letter. Do not let the SA down.
As of now, I'd like any interested SA members to post below.
Finally, all rules that are going to be posted in a separate thread are applicable as well. See HERE

I have met with LNS-Thor's.Hammer (over 70 million) and attained the needed funds to renovate the forgotten Liberty system of Virginia. Civilian (WolfPack98 and Igiss) authorities have been informed and we are waiting for the final decision on our new Headquarters and the transfer of funds from our budget. Shall keep all informed. All surplus has been donated by the crew of the LNS-Thor's.Hammer for recruitment and unit upgrades. My pride in the unit has not been higher. Well done sailors.
I am writing to inform you sir, of a change in orders. I have recieved word from Fleet Command that due to the decreased activity in my own sector and the need of the Southern Fleet, that I have been reassined to the Virginia system and the South Fleet. My own intelligence reports on the situation in the California and Texas systems have shown increased enemy activity. For this reason I have dispatched the LNS Thunderbolt immediatly to Virginia. My flag ship the LNS Valahlla, will follow once the situation here permits. Allow me to pledge my ships and crews to the service of the South Alliance. Thank you.

I advise that we use extreme caution in how we deal with the BSG's upcoming "blockade run" event. Although the BSG are indeed our allies, they are working on behalf of Bretonia and will almost certainly be opposed by Kusari forces.
Simply put, this is a military operation that pits Bretonia against Kusari--don't we need to be careful to maintain our neutrality? BSG plans to move military fuel into Harris, to be used by Bretonia's fleet. If we are transporting the Deuterium or escorting ships that are, our actions will be interpreted as Liberty entering the war on Bretonia's side.
My personal feelings are simple: I'm with Bretonia, and I plan to help in the capacity of a freelance trader. At this point, however, I'm not sure the SA should get involved... and if we do, we need to be very very careful. Wars have begun over less than this, and I don't want to be responsible for plunging Liberty into war with Kusari.

Well, Captain Seldon does raise a very viable point. This will be the current plan.
Our ships will seek to protect the BSG convoy within the boundaries of SF space. This task force will be under the command of Captain Gvnr. RedBear of the Military District of Texas, and I am assigning Lieutenants Joe Davis and Thor to his command.
Meanwhile, would it be possible that as a neutral party, the Aedos fly recon for the BSG? Captain Seldon, contact the Aedos and procure a confirmation for me.
I also noticed something strange today. While sending a message to the President of the Twelve Colonies, he stopped talking all together, as if he could not hear or see me at all.
Thus, I'm issuing a Secure channel communications Order.(Carry on as normal, all RP)
Finally, I'd like everyone to take a good look at our Rules and Regulations, now posted up in a separate thread that we can link to at our own discretion.
OOC:
Due to everyone's(except for me... :() combined efforts, we have managed to raise well over 400Million for the purchase of Virginia! This is a glorious day for all SA members!!

I must respectfully disagree with my brother officer Cpt. Seldon. BSG sided with us when others viewed our unit with, at best, amusement. If it were not for BSG our position would still be indoubt and precarious. Overall, Bretonia is an ally as is BSG. Kusari and Rheinland are at most neutral, with rumblings of hostility from their elite units the RM. In addition, Tau-31 belongs to Bretonia, though physical in doubt at this point. My agent passes through Tau-31 regularly and I can assure you Kusari does not rule absolute. I believe as an organization that upholds the ideals of Liberty we must offer our assistance regardless of how others may preceive it. It is our duty. Texas Squadron stands ready, sir!
I am going to be blunt. I have been in the Liberty Navy a long time. I have seen action in three dozen systems, against countless rebel, outlaw, enemy and (sadly) friendly forces. During the Nomad insurgency I even had a small mutiny to contend with. I do not pretend to care about politics. The only policy I care about is for those under my command. However this situation stinks. Kusari wants to corner whats left of the market in H-fuel and has decided that traditional diplomacy be damned. I can say from recent experience that Kusari is not as friendly with Liberty as the news will have you believe. Mark my words, War is coming. So with all that said, I am a career officer and as such I will obey the orders given to me. My men will do their duty and serve with distinction. But I think that we should take a play out of the Kusari book and strike first, strike hard. Unless we wake up one day and find that we have no allies left.

OOC: How do you guys want to RP the ships that we own? Is this the prefered way? I have a little experience with the military but not a lot with an online RP like this. Just wondering. Thanks

RedBear, Adamson, I agree... the problem is, it isn't our decision to make. Do we have any word from the President or Congress on how they want to handle this situation? Remember, as long as we fly under the flag of the Liberty Navy, we answer to them. If they believe it is our time to throw in our lot with Bretonia, then we'll be ready.
And if we choose to assist unofficially, as private citizens on our own time... that is our own business. As I said before, if Liberty stays out, I will still be there in the Aedos.

OOC: I don't want us to take flak for going "against our RP." Everything in-game has us favoring Bretonia without overtly supporting them against Kusari. If we could be sure that the situation actually will change in the next version of the mod, this could be a fun place to start that transition. Or alternately, perhaps we can prepare some secret orders from the President that indicate we should assist, then have our involvement officially denied by the government afterward.
The point is, I think we'll need some very solid RP backing before we assist overtly as members of the SA.
After reflecting upon my brother officer's, Cpt. Seldon, position I feel we are more than justified with my original appeal. However, to answer Cpt. Seldon's points of neutrality. I must point out we are not neutral. We, and I mean Liberty Colony, have already sided with Bretonia in relation to combat issues, specifically supportting the minefield around Harris planet in Tau-31, and this against the wishes of Kusari and Rheinland. If this is not enough to provide assitance, I must also point out Kusari has already drawn Liberty blood with their ambush of Deep Space Engineering convoys. This is a Liberty corporation flying our flag and crewed by our citizen's.
As before Commander, Texas Squadron stands ready!
My compliments
Cpt. Redbear
Ooc: understood, Sushi, but I am playing what i truly am a Texan. I am advocating intervention, but as you say it is not our decision but that of our civilian authorities:) But, I believe we have just cause to help, and if its just to Leeds, oh well, it'll still be fun:)
@Thor sounds good to me. Like a junior:) officer bitting at the bit to make name for self with new command of a Frigate! I have a softspot for Frigates:)
