I dont have a problem with current level 9-10 missiles, I would like to talk about maybe the non-existant level 8 missiles?
Maybe level 7-8 missiles could have better tracking?

I would also like to propose variations in missile type based on energy consumption.
The principle is that a missile that chews energy is basically shot out of its missile launcher with an electromagnetic booster. This type of missile would have increased speed in exchange for energy use.
Missile Launchers that dont use energy dont have this speed bonus.
In regards to Starkiller/Sunslayer Torps. I would ask that these weapons be converted to a kind of long-range anti fighter missile. They would have the same delayed tracking and slow acceleration as a Nova Torp - but tracking as good as a regular fighter missile - and they can also be CDed easily.
The principle is that the Starkiller/Sunslayer cant be used to gank small ships at close range - but could be very effective at long range. At long range a small ship can still evade, shoot, CD or CM the torp - but must actually make an effort to do so.
Just as the Nova Torp is a long-range anti-cap weapon, the 'Normal' Freelancer Torps could become long-range anti-fighter weapons.
Also, mines are a good way to evade missiles. You hear an incoming missile warning? drop a mine and see how missile hits a mine while your attacker passes by and takes a strange damage:)
