3 years and 13 posts?
hmm.
Allowing new players in on an even basis with the rest of us is what keeps this server running with fresh blood.
Of course, having a note in the description to visit the forums to see a password, so long as the password is readily visible, might not be such a bad idea and reduce the lolwuttage while still allowing new players who actually want to RP to join in without too much trouble.
Everything that can be done to increase the servers capability is being done, but unless you know one of the original designers that would be willing to help us upgrade FLserver...

Hey, you are overestimating me.
Give password to existing players and stop all new income except for invites would be cool on the other hand... *cough*
No ... What I really meant was that the email you get to activate forum acc would also contain the password... no big deal to wait a few hours, just enough time to read rules and learn a bit about server... Those who go there for Lulz and PvPz would turn back and leave for other server most likely.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.

Igiss has said this server will never have a password.
Err... we cannae bring the player count up above 200 unless we do some ninja-coding and run two servers simultaneously, with each carrying half the systems, or something. Which would be friggin' ridiculous to set up, and would probably require a new machine for the server. Oh, and ye've taken me avatar. I'm gettin' confused, now...

Noooo! I did it again!
I am discriminating -them-again!
Regardless of other situations, I'm not sure this would work. What's to stop people from just telling people? Or putting it in some forum so that it shows up with a simple google search?
hm....its completely possible, we just aren't going about it correctly.
You'd have to use a program like wireshark to disect the IO of the server and then write a new server program from scratch that is compatible with those. Kinda like what they did with wine, except instead of the entire windows api youre only working on a server.

Hmm... you mean, do it this on existing server ? one server ? with 400 capatibility ? And what about stability ? if we do so, it will be one big LAG !

bad idea i think, but i might be wrong :|
the reason the current server lags at 400 is due to no support for more than 2 cores i believe and lack of 64bit support and stuff so i think its threading could be revised.:D
