Seems like these hard, economic times are making for a change in corporate marketing ideology. Along with a soon-to-be-released free MW 4 and its expansions from Microsoft, Bethesda is re-releasing Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall for free as well on its website. For those of you who just started the Elder Scrolls series with IV, I HIGHLY recommend looking into this one. Sure, the graphics may be completely outdated, but it is by far the most in-depth game out of the entire series. Some key points:
- 161,600 square kilometers of in-game territory to explore (IV only had 41.4)
- 750,000+ NPCs to interact with (IV had around 1000)
- The ability to actually dual-wield
- The ability to ride a horse
- The ability to dual-wield while riding a horse AND hurl kill magic
- Multiple endings, depending on your actions and the people you align yourself with.
If you ever needed something to absolutely, positively kill all of your free time, this is it.
