Personal Medical Log:
Once again I find myself on Planet Cambridge on multiple duties. I was asked to give a lecture to some dental students here and then go through some procedures with them. Good kids as they were all eager to learn. As much as I like improving my medical skills even further, I do enjoy teaching when chance allows. I've been promised more opportunities for the future.
While here, I've been shuttling to and from the Cambridge Research Facility. My recent studies included Nomads which they research extensively here. I find these.....aliens...to be most intriguing. I find that in some respects their anatomy is similar to that of the Klingons in that they both have enhanced and redundant systems and organs for long term survival and resistance. If I get the chance to study with some of the Order medical staff, I would like to compare these analysis.
I also got into some surgical procedures. This should help during my travels. Speaking of travels, Midori has decided to spread her wings a bit and do some exploring while I'm here. She is well and will be home soon.
With the many reports of violations around Freeport 10 in the Tau-37 system, we have moved into that system to monitor it for awhile. I have forgotten how nice a system it really is up here.
The crew has enjoyed some down time in the Freeport. It has been a good while since they had some shore leave on Gran Canaria and they most deserve it.
As for me, I find myself wrestling with old memories, memories I want to forget but can't. I feel a rage building that I fear may one day explode for the revenge I was never able to seek. Or maybe, I'm just the excessive idle time we have been experiencing has let my mind roam too much.
A busy day today. First we met Prometheus: Harvester 24 at Freeport 10. After numerous attempts to hack our systems and to take the ship hostage, our evasion tactics worked and "it" gave up, seeking other prey.
Then, as we sat having dinner at the Freeport bar, I received a distress call from Ambassador Holliday. He was pinned down on the surface of Malta by two Ghosts ships. My first recon of the area found the Spagna and another Corsair battleship shooting anything and everything. It was a fight I would not win so I returned to Freeport 10 and called for back-up. It arrived in the form of Syros, an Aquilon cruiser. We both engaged the ships. Syros was lost. As my weapons did little, I had no choice but to spare my crew and find shelter.
*sighs*
Last I knew, the Ambassador was still stuck there. I have informed his wife of the situation, re-assuring her that so long as he is planet side, he is safe. Still, she is terrified and I'm not sure how to help her. I know it sounds......callous but emotional support is something I have never been good with. I do hope that she has found help in someone.
I caught him mosyin' through Baffin again like he owned the bleedin' place, and followed the booger t' Tau-29 in me Conference.
He Snac'd me t' pieces wihile i was tryin' t' get a bead on his slimey arse. Two Solaris' and those bleedin' missile tubes just wouldn't do the trick, boyos.. it's gonna take somethin' fast, small, 'n mean t' do the job. Either that, or somethin' half the size o' a planet.
I'm uninjured, and back at the Temple gatherin' me wits, but me bleedin' pride sufferred a blow, it did.
Good huntin'.
(Reggie, could ye send me some Flax fer repairs, luv?)
Yesterday, after discussion with the Chancellor, I have promoted my 1st Officer, Lt. Commander Gor, to Commander. He has worked hard and more than proven his skill, integrity and honor. Quite honestly, I should have done this for him long ago.
We had a promotion ceremony during a brief stop to Gran Canaria where he received his new rank and commander's robes after which we celebrated with Blood Wine. As a "consequence" *a chuckle is heard* of his new rank, he has been assigned to one of our new bombers, the I.K.S. Malpara. Once final touches are made, he will pick up his gunnery and communication's officers at Canaria before he heads out on his first assignment.
Good luck, Commander Gor, you have earned this honor.
In his place, I have promoted my security chief, Lieutenant Jorgar, to Lt. Commander and made him my new first officer at the same promotion ceremony. I have faith that he will do a fine job. Best of luck, Lt. Commander, in your new post.

Personal Log:
Today was meant to be a day of trade runs to include a food run to Crete. All that was doused with some very troubling news. I received word of an OPG attack on FP9 over some Outcasts in the area. The details of which I am still in the dark about. All I heard was a threat to destroy the Freeport over a false claim of harboring Outcasts. I still have reports to sort out on this.
But, what really hurts today is that the Moonstone was destroyed in the defense of the base and all 3 crew members on board were killed. I have requested their remains be brought to Gran Canaria for proper burial. I am both angered and saddened. Three unnecessary deaths over what I'm guessing is some understanding or at least I hope it is. I'm hoping that it as the base took some damage as well.
The bodies of Captain Michael Vincent, engineer Scott Knudsen and nav officer Ensign Greg Locke were buried with full honors. *sobs are heard* Ensign Locke was only 17 years old.
*gets up and slams fists on the table, breaking it*
He then sits and stares at the wall, angry! It is a rare moment where he wants no one around him.

Sauce, some chap told me to hold the sauce on the sauce. Well i never! *hick* My vessel was missing just as much paint as his was and there was no sauce leaking from his containers. Yet he kept rumbling on about the sauce. Are we selling sauce somewhere? Freeport maybe? I had no sauce, plutonium was my game. Lanzarote used to be on this grid, bloody hell they moved it!

A few things, Gang.
I want to give my thanks to Xavier Triton who helped me make some food runs today into Crete. With him was a member of the Polish Zoner Consortium who's name escapes me but with several runs made, I feel that we have smoothed over a few things with the OPG.
While I'm on that subject, if you traders wouldn't mind, plan a food run here and there. It keeps things quiet and helps TAZ remain on good standing.
Xavier, if you have a problem for the CoZ, post it here and it will be fowarded. The Council is aware of the Ghost ship problem in the Omicrons and has been doing much to counter it. Do not take the first shot at one but do hold your ground. I've heard these ships will fire if you are within 2k of them yet they will creep in to close that gap. Unless you're confident you can take it down, do NOT engage a Ghost ship alone and DO NOT chase it into Omicron Gamma or Omega 5.
Lastly, while Mal is away, I'm handling the day to day operations. So, if you guys n' gals can step up and help me, it would be most appreciated. I need to keep a watch over the temple in Baffin. NO ONE but TAZ or approved people will be permitted there. If there is a problem, they can contact me!

All right, TAZ,
If any of you have any military ships to spare, we could use a few in Gran Canaria. We have one Aquilon there that I know of. What we need are support craft, such as a few bombers. If you are wondering why, the animals known as Queen Carina's Privateers are shooting Zoner vessels.
If any of you destroy one, I will give you 5 million credits and a bottle of Gallic Wine or drink of your choice.
