This is not a volunteer thread for new admins, this is a query on what we as a community can do to help admins in their work.

I realise we can all actually be nice and follow the rules, we all pretty much do, but those who don't only sign up to complain why their banned/jailed.

So admins, or knowledgeable people on the matter, how can we the community, help you! The Admin?

I almost doubt you'll give any of us rights to get into the server controls or anything like that, and I dare say that would be irresponsible. But is there something we all can do, or a group of us you select can do, to help you out?

You admins have bled for us, now let us help thee!

well we can help each other.. by having more satisfied and rule obeying players there will be less complaining and less "annoying" work for the admins

I'd say that if people were better sports, the community would get along alot better
Also if everyone re-read the rules atleast once every 6 months we'd have fewer sanction issues

Using common sense...if someone is obviously new to the game, talk to them in private chat and explain how the Disco RP works, maybe direct them to the forums and give them tips on how to start a character

that would reduce the ooc issues I think

yep you can use the TS server or skype or what ever to make it easier to communicate. Helping new players is helping yourself.. Not always works for the best but most of the time.

I support Dab.

Goes for new players as well as 'old' players, who think they should get away with being dicks.

And this is one of the ways to help, by using more respective language. How about you rephrase that?

And... make rules that uphold themselves, try to avoid rules that will only be used so 'old' people can rule lawyer 'new' people and have an excuse to sanction them if they want to.

Example:
-No cruise to catch up rule: solution: change cruise engines on cap ships

-make oorp equiptment impossible to get and sustain

-make shieldrunnung impossible by increasing weapons spead

-the word 'ganking' was introduced by people who think they should be above others and be oorp when they want, and want other people to rp when and how they want. Dont expect others not to attack you when you are in their home system. If oyu gotta be in a light fighter and expect people to be hsot down, use common sense and stay out of the face of peope who are oposed to you in rp.

What Dab said, mostly.
If we knew for sure everyone was using common sense and that the players have mutual respect for each other, we'd not need any rules except maybe three or four.
