i understand that, and i'm aware you probably have good intentions, really no criticism to you at all:)
just saying that the change that would allow a turret or a forward gun on the current forward gun mount mount would also enable you to stick a forward gun on any gunboat mount
If the ship doesnt perform as you would like, maybe you are not using it properly, all gunboats are not to be used in the same manner.
If you dont like the foreward gun, either learn how to use it, or get a different gunboat, but do not ask for perfectly balenced ships to be changed to suit you. It wont happen.

Take a chill mate. This post is not called for in such a manner. These are suggestion not a question of someones ability, I fly with it just fine, doesnt mean it cant be an option for players. All because you like it does not deams all other opinions are negligable.

Well that would be an issue, I suppose there could be a way to prevent that.

You try using a forward gun before you tell people to shut up and sit down. If you are inclined to play a lawful of Liberty/Bretonian persuasion, you have to fly a GB with a forward gun - you have no real choice.
Having flown the Liberty GB, the Orca and the Bret GB I can say that the forward gun can be tricky to learn how to use, is useless in turret mode (weapons groups change as you enter turret mode is a real pain), and works like a battle razor. Effective enough with practice, but nowhere near as handy as turrets.
I truly wish there was an alternative - but the one-SN-shot-and-you're-dead-gunship doesn't quite cut it..

Im not being rude at all, i am just saying that if a ship doesnt seem to perform well, then maybe you arent flying it right, and maybe you should look at fixing that, instead of the ship.

@Athenian: i have flown the orca, bret GB and kusari gunboat, all with foreward guns, they are not hard to use once you know how, but take some getting used to.

Not a question of flying ability, we make changes to fly the ship to make it work, I believe the owner should have the option to change the setup. Change to the liking of the owner. If you like it keep it, if you dont change it. Its why we have weapons shops.
