Dear Sir/Madam/Excellency:
I have completed the necessary steps required. The RNS Guillotine is at present fully operational and will commence border patrols immediately. The crew and I have great expectations for the vessel, and we are ready to receive orders at any time. Since I am not part of the primary fleet yet, this vessel will be subordinate to all high ranking officers flashing the primary fleet tag (GRN|). I have attached a brief history of the main crew and myself.
Regards,
Cpt. Julien Lucas
Opening Attachment. Attachment Open. Subject: Crew History
Julien Lucas: Ship captain (Age 20) Julien Lucas hails from a well off family with wealth accumulated over generations. Julien is the only son among 7 children, and is the youngest of the siblings. After loosing both parents at a young age to a terrorist raid, the 6 sisters, the youngest of whom was 8 years older than Julien, chose to dedicate their lives to helping those whose families were torn apart by violence. Much of the Lucas familys wealth was given away to improve the lives of others. It was a natural thought that small-statured, thin-limbed Julien would follow in his sisters footsteps and work to achieve peace, so naturally it came as a surprise that Julien chose to enter the Naval Academy on his 10th birthday. Always mild mannered, he grasped early on that there are no rules in war, and this found him as the attention of a GRI agent. Suitably impressed with Juliens ability to handle the battlefield, both in simulations and in real raids during the defense of Lorraine, the agents agency offered Julien captainship of a new Valor class battleship. Since this was an act transcending the GRN Authority, the vessel would remain as subordinate to higher ranking GRN officers.
Colette Arces: Ship commander (Age 21) Colettes family has been part of the Royal Navy since 10 A.G.S. Her father was a high ranking official, and always used to take his family along on his trips to Naval bases and depots, so Colette had her heart set on entering the Naval Academy and becoming a great officer like her father. Her father put in some good words in the academy for her, and she found herself excelling to higher places due to her ancestry but also her military attitude and battlefield skills. However, tragedy struck: her father Alcee was killed in space by his own police escort convoy. Colette lost most of her morale and self-esteem after her fathers death, and somehow got shunted from the path to the GRN High Command to second in command on the RNS Guillotine. While still a brilliant strategist, her depression, negative attitude, and blatant hatred of the corrupt Gallic Royal Police tend to overshadow her achievements and abilities.
Alphonse Lumier: Crew commander (Age 56) Alphonse has been in the navy for a long time, and he is probably the only one on the RNS Guillotine that shares Juliens attitude of death and war. As such, he has no delusions of grandeur. After the death of his daughter from suicide, he has adopted a grim outlook on life, and has decided not to let depression consume the mind of others. As such, he has taken to paying close attention to Colette and Julien; Colette for her self-doubt and Julien for his casual disregard of the killing that happens around them. His extensive knowledge of work divisions and personal therapy led to his becoming of crew commander, in charge of dividing labor on the vessel and in charge of keeping morale up.
Zacharie LaMont: External Weapons Commander (Age 35) Zacharie was slightly reluctant to get into the navy, but eventually was dragged into it by his old friend Xavier Jeupeur. Zacharie had a hidden knack for directing and leadership which slowly revealed itself as Zacharie progressed through the academy. While good at management, however, he often loses himself in the moment, as was seen when he panicked as the gunboat he was commanding got swarmed by Council Bombers. After getting bailed out by a fighter patrol, his future in commanding just about ended. He shifted into weapons management, where he developed a keen instinct for weaponry aiming. He was picked up into Juliens crew after Julien observed him hit a Gecko with a Glaive. He holds commands over the battleship weapons system, ready to direct which weapon to fire at what time.
Xavier Jeupeur: Communications lead (Age 35) Xavier was always fascinated by radios and television sets. The fact that a complete sound or sight could be turned into moving particles and then reparsed into its original self was a great source of marvel. Xavier joined the academy with enthusiasm, knwoing that he would go into interspace communications. He was happy with his accomplishments, but due to unfortunate circumstances was never able to make his desired level in the navy. Rejection after rejection forced him into working as a maintenance worker for old communications machines. His moment came when a cargo transport that he was on got boarded by Unione Corse terrorists, who planned to load the vessel with explosives and crash it into New Paris. Hiding in a Garbage chute, Xavier used his knowledge of broken machinery to make a makeshift radio and signal for help. After he was rescued, Julien saw into his potential, and hired him to manage communications on the battleship.
