Gaming companies should strive to surprise their customers, give them something good that they werent expecting. What blizzard is doing is taking the ideas that have been thrown around on the forums and using them, and of course giving no credit to the people that actually thought them up. I throw it in the same category as copyright infringement, they're stealing intellectual content.
Being given what you want might please some people, the idiots that dont know which end of the dog stinks the most, but it is far better in game development to be surprised by something that you would never have even thought of. Creativity is what keeps gaming companies moving.
I havent looked at the wow forums yet regarding this, but I can almost guarantee you there's dozens of posts up by now going "lolol, told u there wud b goblinz!". I saw the first post suggesting worgen as a playable race, I even have replies in that thread, and that was back before the -first- expansion was released - I'm sure the guy who posted that, put the effort into making it all up, is going "****ing blizzard, where's my cut of your profits?"
I expect more from a company that's making billions a year in pure profit.
Well, I'm one of those odd people who read through the lore in the Warcraft II manual when it came out in the nineties. And I have to say that Greymane was one of my favorite Human nations. (And one of the reasons why I didn't pick up WoW when it started, was because they weren't included) Combined that with how they just twisted the story in WCIII and, well, yeah.
I'm glad they're finally doing something new, mixing up the world a bit is always a good thing. My problem is that with every MMO, they have to keep making the situation more and more epic until finally they run out of ideas.
Also, the goblins are long overdue, but they need a new model. Also, I thought the goblins were always a part of the Horde?
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
Quote:After having watched that video, I've lost even more faith in Blizzard. Almost every single thing shown for this expansion - the new heroic instances, the new races, even the plot - were suggested by players on the forums for the past 2-3 years.
Blizzard has no creativity anymore, it's stuck taking ideas from the forum trolls to keep the game moving.
We're not paying someone to use our ideas without giving credit, and everyone who does get something put into this mod is mentioned in the readme/credits. Entirely different.

the reason they are doing it was because people said blizzard was not taking their ideas, people seriously need to make their mind up.
Bagh more ingame injustice I'm sure, played WoW from its release , seen alot of good times and further seen alot of bad ones, Wotlk , kinda killed alot of hard work as far as I'm concerned, the economy is out of whack. Just another form for Blizz to keep up the revenue, pushing the endgame and ruining the process of what it took to get there. But I'm sure my son will make me get him a copy. Then beg to play one of my one oo many 80's...
