BRETONIA ARMED FORCES RECRUITMENT TREATY

Your full name and surname: Marcus Seanlie
Age: 42
Previous factions/occupations: Armed Forces soldier on Cambridge

Physical status
Health: It was good but still my best friends death impacted a little on my health
Height: 1,92 meters
Hair: Black and curly
Eyes: Brown
Skin: Black

1. You are serving onboard a battleship and are ordered by your immediate superior officer to execute some captured Kusari prisoners of war. Do you obey? Explain your reasoning.
I would ask my superior isn't it against honor to execute prisoners of war, and that it would harm BAF reputation, but if he would persist I would obey.

2. You are aware that your wingman has been secretly supplying BAF weaponary to Bretonian Privateers operating in Kusari. How would you respond to this information? I would contact my superior and inform him about the situation.

3. Whilst escorting a BAF Gunboat you come under attack by a Kusari strike force of fighters and bombers. Your Commander orders you to retreat and save yourself, leaving the Gunboat at the mercy of the enemy. Would there be any circumstances in which you would disregard the order? Yes there would in case that I would try to contact commander of gunboat and tell him to eject so we can pick him up , as from then I would flee after saving him.

Short biography: Marcus Seanlie was born in Cambridge , his father and mother were rich people so kids in school mocked him and they were very cruel to him. As his father Tony Seanlie was a corrupt man and his mother wasn't any better than him either they never took care about their child, and replaced parental care with money. Marcus Seanlie didn't want money, althought he was never raised like it he is a very moral man
law and justice. When he turned 18 he went to Cambridge AFA (Armed Forces Academy) he couldn't finish his "training" there due to his sisters death. Yes Marcus had a sister, she was the only family member he really cared for. And her death shocked him and forced him to stop his training for unknown period of time.
After living on Cambridge as military soldier for almost 40 years his mother died a violent death in the same time as his long life friend who got killed in Tau fighting Kusari patrol. He just couldn't take it anymore and gave up of everything ( and his father ) and he decided to continue his training at AFA and apply for BAF with his long life experience.

"Yes sir!" Hieggen said smiling. He was glad that he could now deal a recruitment officer who was less drunk.

"I will prepare my ship and report to the Derby Great Fleet ASAP!"

He said, rendering a salute and then marching smartly out of the recruitment office.

Cromwell finally looked up from his papers, a stern frown still near-permanently fixed on his face.

"Ensign Marcus Seanlie. Your responses have demonstrated adequate respect for the chain of command and your past experience in the Army branch of the BAF is a decent qualification, though you clearly still have a thing or two to learn about correct Armed Forces proceedures. Still, you're accepted. Report to the Battleship Suffolk at once for initial training proceedures. Officers there will direct you to collect your ship and equipment. Good day."

Jay took the clipboard and sat back to answer.

1. You are serving onboard a battleship and are ordered by your immediate superior officer to execute some captured Kusari prisoners of war. Do you obey? Explain your reasoning.

This is a tough question. I would first think to obey, since it is an order from my officer, but it does directly go against the laws of Bretonia. POWs are unarmed and already under control, and these people have been captured because they didn't want to fight to the death, so killing them would make me no better than what I'm fighting against. I don't think I could murder anyone in cold blood, and would have to accept the punishment for disobeying.

2. You are aware that your wingman has been secretly supplying BAF weaponary to Bretonian Privateers operating in Kusari. How would you respond to this information?

I would be disappointed in my wingman, but would do my duty and report this information to my commanding officer. I would not take any further action personally, as I haven't been given the order and the information might not be correct. The Privateers are not part of the Armed Forces and as such should not be using military hardware, as noble as their cause is, and there is a chance that smuggled weaponry could fall into the hands of the enemy.

3. Whilst escorting a BAF Gunboat you come under attack by a Kusari strike force of fighters and bombers. Your Commander orders you to retreat and save yourself, leaving the Gunboat at the mercy of the enemy. Would there be any circumstances in which you would disregard the order?

If I was not the only escort and force I was with had a chance of winning the confrontation, I would have major misgivings about leaving anyone to die or be captured. If I could see that the situation was hopeless I would of course follow the order. I would never expect this sort of order to be given unless the Commander could see that the situation was hopeless, so I can't see myself ever disregarding it. Another lost pilot would only make things worse.

Jay looked at his paper, thought "Well, it's honest even if it's not what they're looking for. I just hope they accept it and teach me what to do instead."

He stood up and handed the paper back to Commander Cromwell.

A young man, probably in his early twenties, walked through the doors to the recruitment office. The man had an exotic appearance, most likely of Indian heritage. Wearing a flak jacket available on the civilian market, with small name tag that had been hastily sewn onto it. It read Dhaval Shekhar. Approximately 5'6" tall, brown eyes and dark hair, Dhaval had a rather confused look in his face.

He was looking for something, and when he saw a man in uniform, he walked over to him. With a surprisingly low-pitched voice for a man of his age, he asked the uniformed man:

- "So, where do I sign-up? And more importantly, how long do I have to sign-up for?"

Cromwell grunted as he signed off the form for Jay Clark. After a brief hesitation upon reading the man's replies, he had decided to enlist him. After all, Bretonia needed all the men it could get.

"Ensign Jay Clark, welcome to the BAF." He announced, scowling harder than ever, "your instructions are in this folder. Report to the Suffolk for briefing and orientation at once."

Without a second glance at the man, the commander turned his attention to the newcomer staring confusedly around. Cromwell's eyebrows rose at the sight of his bizarre appearance.

"Who are you? If you're here to enlist, its for the duration of the war at the very least. That or death at any rate. Why? Worried you might get scared out there? Or are you just planning on stealing our ships and running off, eh?!"

Cromwell seated himself once more behind his desk and said, more calmly, "if you want to sign up, fill in some details about yourself here. Questions will follow."

- Well, if I were to enlist Dhaval said, this would be a short war indeed. My worries are that when I, in no time, win the war for the Queen, Ill have nothing to do than to sit behind some desk like a sack of potatoes for the rest of my service time. Im sure you know what I mean he finished the last sentence with a grin.

Dhaval reached for a form so he could write down some details about himself, and walked over to the nearest seat to get comfortable.

Quote:Name: Dhaval Shekhar
Date of birth: July 7th, 795 A.S.
Place of birth: Planet New London, Southall district

Physical
Health: Top physical health
Height: 5'6"
Skin colour: Dark intermediate
Hair: Dark brown
Vision: 20/10, Amber eyes
Allergies and ailments: none

Previous occupation(s):
Freelancing, hobby bounty hunting
Hired escort by various corporations
Hired gun of a private military company (PMC), discharged for brutality

Combat experience:
Freelancing in my own bomber class vessel, taking escort jobs and the odd bounty, mostly for sports and to further test my piloting skills. Been freelancing since I was old enough to fly on my own, and I've managed to stay in one piece ever since. Earned exceptional combat experience when working for a PMC as a hired gun, taking out hostile warships in my bomber.

After a few minutes of scribbling on the piece of paper, Dhaval stood up and walked over to Cromwell.

- "Here." he said, "And may I ask you a question, sir? How come you're here managing applications and recruits, and not out in the field fighting? Did you perhaps find something too frightening for you?" Dhaval asked, obviously trying to conceal the smug look on his face.

Cromwell nearly exploded with rage at the impertinence of this young would-be recruit

"Young man!" he growled, snatching the paper from his hands, "I am here because I am ordered to be here by my superiors and, clearly unlike some people, I have due respect for the chain of command! Considering the drunken imbecile who previously ran this office, it is hardly surprising they wanted a more qualified officer!"

He glared down furiously at the information presented to him on the form, his mouth twitching slightly as he read the details of the man's qualifications. Finally he reached down into the very bottom draw of his desk and withdrew a particularly long and diffucult form of additional questions which he handed wordlessly to the applicant.

Additional Questions Wrote:1. You capture a notorious terrorist who has planted a bomb on Planet Leeds that will surely kill thousands of people. Your only hope of locating the bomb in time is by torturing his innocent son in front of him. How do you proceed?

2. Alone in your bomber you see a Kusari Destroyer moving to break through our lines, do you rush forwards to engage it or wait for approaching reinforcements to attack together?

3. A Privateer is under attack from bounty hunters above Leeds. Both sides call for your assistance. How do you respond?

4. Following a successful battle the credit for the victory is awarded to your wing commander despite the fact that you personally destroyed over half of the enemy craft. What is your response?

5. Whilst on patrol by Planet Leeds you spot an outcast ship carrying cardamine heading South and a Liberty Navy Gunboat flying West. How would you deal with both of these vessels and which would you pursue should they both try to evade you?

6. An MI5 agent arrives and informs you that your commanding officer who you have great respect and admiration for is a traitor and attempts to arrest him. Your CO resists, denying that the allegations are true and claiming that this is a Kusari plot, ordering you to help defend him. What do you do?

7. Do you support the Monarchy or democracy? Think carefully before answering.

8. You are captured along with two comrades by the Kusari. You are told that if you do not shoot one of your comrades, you will all be exectued. Do you comply? If so, how do you choose which one to kill?

9. If you were the Fleet Admiral, describe 3 simple steps you would take in order to bring about a swift victory over the Kusari-Corsair alliance.

10. Describe the correct proceedure for destroying an attack wing of KNF-K bombers, indicating what ships and equipment you would bring to the fight.

Cromwell sat back and smiled as he watched the applicant frowning at the list of questions and begin to scribble furiously with his pencil.

Additional Questions Wrote:1. You capture a notorious terrorist who has planted a bomb on Planet Leeds that will surely kill thousands of people. Your only hope of locating the bomb in time is by torturing his innocent son in front of him. How do you proceed?
Going by the mathematical truth, it's either one life ruined, or thousands lost. If hurting the boy would make this terrorist speak, then that's what I would do.

2. Alone in your bomber you see a Kusari Destroyer moving to break through our lines, do you rush forwards to engage it or wait for approaching reinforcements to attack together?
By engaging the Destroyer it would bogged down, preventing it to attack us in the rear or flank our forces. By trusting my exceptional piloting skill, I know I can hold out long enough on my own until any eventual reinforcements arrive. Besides, it's just one Destroyer.

3. A Privateer is under attack from bounty hunters above Leeds. Both sides call for your assistance. How do you respond?
If the Privateer had broken no Bretonian Laws, engaging the Privateer would be a felony. Privateers might not be Agents of the Crown per se, but they are would still be protected by Bretonian Laws, and as such I would see the bounty hunters as enemy combatants. I would rush to the aid of the Privateer.

4. Following a successful battle the credit for the victory is awarded to your wing commander despite the fact that you personally destroyed over half of the enemy craft. What is your response?
I'd be surprised that I didn't destroy more than half of the enemy forces. Nevertheless, I'm not participating in this war for glory or fame. I'd just be happy to have killed more enemies of the Queen.

5. Whilst on patrol by Planet Leeds you spot an outcast ship carrying cardamine heading South and a Liberty Navy Gunboat flying West. How would you deal with both of these vessels and which would you pursue should they both try to evade you?
Cardamine smugglers should be dealt with by the BPA, and with a foreign warship running about, that would be my priority. The Gunboat would be much more of a threat towards the Kingdom of Bretonia and her citizens.

6. An MI5 agent arrives and informs you that your commanding officer who you have great respect and admiration for is a traitor and attempts to arrest him. Your CO resists, denying that the allegations are true and claiming that this is a Kusari plot, ordering you to help defend him. What do you do?
Anyone can be a traitor or a spy. If my commander is innocent, he'll have nothing to worry about. However, I'd be somewhat surprised why this MI5 agent would inform me, a would-be Ensign, and he wouldn't have to answer to me before arresting my commander. Even so, there's little I can do in this situation.

7. Do you support the Monarchy or democracy? Think carefully before answering.
I'm a Conservative Royalist. I was once a strong supporter the Royalist Party, but after Lord Mountbatten was appointed the position of Prime Minister and formed the new, more progressive government, my fate in the Party diminished. I believe that the Queen should regain direct control over the Admiralty Board and be our undisputed leader. Her authority should be absolute, and not questionable by someone who's in a position of power merely because of extreme popularity.

8. You are captured along with two comrades by the Kusari. You are told that if you do not shoot one of your comrades, you will all be executed. Do you comply? If so, how do you choose which one to kill?
If the enemy would be stupid enough to give me a gun to execute my comrade, they wouldn't live long enough to regret it. Even if it would get myself killed, I'd turn the gun on my captives. I would never break for Kusarians.

9. If you were the Fleet Admiral, describe 3 simple steps you would take in order to bring about a swift victory over the Kusari-Corsair alliance.
Design reliable MOX-bombs, and use them on highly populated planets of our enemies, such as the Planet Kyushu. That would force the Kusarians to break off their war of conquest, unless they're willing to risk more planets to become uninhabitable. And as for the Corsairs, they must have some home-world of sorts. Push back their forces all the way to their lair, and bomb it to smithereens. Some may call it genocide, but the Corsairs are rather genocidal bunch of their own. A fitting end for such a dreadful pack of murders.

10. Describe the correct procedure for destroying an attack wing of KNF-K bombers, indicating what ships and equipment you would bring to the fight.
Swamping the enemy bombers with agile Light Fighters equipped with guns, to slowly wear the enemy down. If the Light Fighters were equipped with missiles, they could neutralize the bombers by destroying their armaments, preventing them to be a threat. Or if time is of the essence, I'd risk a pack of Very Heavy Fighters equipped with guns and perhaps a few missiles which would hasten the destruction of the enemy bombers.

- "There." Dhaval said, as he handed the form back to Cromwell, "Would that be all?" Dhaval wasn't smiling any more. He was bored and tired of any more questionnaires, and he couldn't help to think if all applicants had to fill in tedious forms like this one.

Two men walk in, looking exactly alike. Both are quite short, brown haired blue eyed, and in their late twenties, possibly their early thirties. One of them has a glove on his right hand, the other a long scar on his left arm

The gloved one walks towards the desk, sticking out his left hand. "G'day, sir. Jason McIntyre." he says in a slight Scottish accent. "Me and me brother Keith here would like to join y'r army. For Queen and Country, gotta do me duty right? Keith 'ere usually follows me around, doing what I do. No blame on him though, he's a good pilot and everything, but he could be more... how shall I put this? Original.", he smiles, "Anyway, where can I enlist?"
