Alrighty then I met a certain person on the other day...
And it brought up the question...
Is it allowed by server rules to demand more than 2mil from a trader? And is it legal to pirate in a bomber?
This person was demading 10mil....that is outrageous and no one could get away from this person because of two novas mounted on there that would shred anything...so is this definitive? And should rules be put against it???
Oh, it was 1 nova. I want an answer too, I was hardly out of roleplay, the GMG would be more than happy to sell *cough* him a Taiidian bomber, we destabalise their enemies.
So, if I can't pirate in it, can I just get a different ship and go around shooting people? Apparenlty thats against server rules too, but loads of people do it.

10 mill..... :blink::shok:
Ummm they can demand that much, chances of them getting it tho...... lets say nada, zip, zero.
I'll say this, the *very* best reasonably fast trade run in the whole mod will make you at the very most, around 13 mill profit.
The problem is, the trade route in question is so well known that it is virtually lined by erm.... people who want their cake but don't want to work for it.
So people do other trade routes, normally much longer, more dangerous, boring ect.
Better that a pirate ask for 2 mill than 10, chances of them getting 2 are vastly larger and there is less chance of the trader bringing 'friends' with them the next time they pass.....
As for the ship, I can't see that pirating in a bomber is a problem as such, except that it doesn't have that big a cargo capacity for scooping up 'left overs' from a 'non payer'.
Koolmo actually, if someone is red in your HUD you can shoot on sight...even if it is a Trader.
Unioners shoot everyone except Rheinland criminals...go ahead and do that... If you wanna be a terrorist then be a terrorist....just try it when 6 KNF are that's always a joy...(No offense KNF ya'll are great guys...there's just so darn many of ya)
Another prob is the lack of RP, i mean, i today tried to rob an Large Train at manhattan and he said "shoot as much you want you cant harm me" , not very RP'ish i think...

Thats because there is no RP in New York.. Go read rule 6.1.
I believe pirating in a bomber was made off-limits long ago. But as far as pirates demanding money, there is no limit to it.
And no you can't just shoot anyone on your hud thats red. Thats not defined solely on their NPC alignment.
For example, an AW could appear red, if you accidentally made the Zoner red on your rep list. Thats not th AW's fault, its yours. Just because they are red doesn't mean they are hostile. Usually it does, but sometimes it does not. If they are red and you attack, and they happen to have a Republican Shipping tag, and your, say, Liberty Navy, thats an unlawful act, which is forbidden by that ID.
He can ask whatever money he wants...
You should hire an escort when doing trade runs through hostile or unsafe space. After all, trading ships are not meant for combat, but for carrying cargo..
