They're too widely used. Sure the Junkers' allies should have access to some of their weapons but were talking about Barragers here. The most advanced and damaging weapon the Junkers have produced to date. If you ask me it should be reserved for only some of the most veteran pilots of the faction. I'm not getting at any person or faction in particular. It's just the amount of times i've ran into Hackers, Rogues, Hessians, Zoners and hell! Even Junkers packing four Barrager Vs is ridiculous. It's just getting boring that everyone turns to the Junkers when they have a loadout problem. Every faction has good enough weaponry that may not be as damaging, but is better in some ways than others nevertheless. Use Em!
People are over using Barragers? Wow, while there is little RP to support your opinion on these weapons being Junkers only in a sense, it does make sense. I mean, the Rogues and Hessians have their own pretty nice weaponry.
The Rogues using them I can understand, but Rogues and Hessians? That is new.
On that note, are Barragers actually any good? I've not touched them since FL Vanilla SP.
no barries are crap, and as long as they stay weaker that flashpoints, they could use a little buff.
After all they only got a speed of 600 and a range of 600 as well...in essence a downgraded sunfrancy.
I think the worst example I've seen so far is the number of Xenos who have been ditching widows in favor of them. To say nothing of the 4238948239043829482390 Mercs out there in "stolen" or "we're neutral" Recyclers loaded down with Barrys.
To say nothing of the Outcasts flying Barrager Collectors.
The bizarre RP justifications are absolutely disgusting in how transparently they're going for the PVP edge. I understand wanting to be on a level playing field with your enemies but, hell, some things just don't make sense.
How about you guys all forget about it and mount missiles to blast their guns off?
My view of the Barrager is that of a Junker product. Each gun is probably unique. If you know what I mean. I see them as a makeshift photon blaster, with increasing power input and resulting blast effect. regarding the junkers, I'm much more into them roaming in the scrap fields, trying to look like they're collecting salvage, whilewaiting for pirates to bring stolen goods.
Because satire on the relative difficulty of their usage and their subsequent popularity is much more fun than simply taking what's handed to me. Also, getting caught far from home in a Collector with Barragers by an Eagle with Black Widows is usually a precursor to a painful night.
But yeah, the gun model, the effects and the overall feel of the gun are a ton of fun. I wouldn't change that in a million years.
