currently, size of nova torpedo, cruiser/battleship missile's body is too small, Solaris cant intercept them which doesnt make sense, Solaris suppose to be like the CIWS in RL, but due to it's small size, it cant be intercepte, only flaks can do it since it doesnt need to hit the missile.
so i would sugguest give nova torp, cruiser/battleship missile a larger body (use the harpoon missile model from some other game would be awsome.), so our supposely point defence system would actually fit the word defence.
I was under the impression Novas couldn't be destroyed by gunfire or CDs any more. Besides, giving the ability to blow them up easily will just make less people use an already underused weapon.
We do need some new missile models though, I think.
Simple way to make the nova more common... remove the snac.
Personally I would like to see the snac removed, and more torpedo options added for bombers.... but anyways, on topic - gunfire is still able to destroy novas, what the devs did was increase the hitpoints of missiles and torpedoes so that a cruise disruptor cant detonate them anymore.

i mean not like 1 hit and it goes boom, i mean at least it's hitable, give the missile more armour doesnt matter, but the thing is, at least i can hit it to try to stop before it hits me

I would like that too, but the problem is explosives can't hurt battleship shields. So, if we remove the SNAC we also have to remove cap ship shields xD

Explosives can hurt shields just fine, they just need to have the explosion radius hit the shield hardpoint.

Yeah, removing the snac would eliminate many problems such as problems with larger caps avoiding SN, because its literealy impossible unless the guy flying the bomber is deaf dumb and blind. However, What would the point be of making the missles larger...? Solaris sucks for mostly everything, Its better just to use flaks to take out the missles. For that matter, Cruiser + BS missles currently fail because they cannot hurt larger BS's shields.

Personally if this was going to happen I'd rather the SNAC be converted to a pulse-style weapon doing lots of shield damage and hardly any hull damage. It would also mean most bombers except the Barghest and Fafnir would be removed of their CD, which is a rather vital tool.
We should also make Capital Ships a larger shield generator model so fighters can blow it off with gun fire, not just explosives. Big ships need big generators, and seriously, try locating the Shield Hardpoint on a Legate.
Well, like I brought up in the bomber argument thread... I think that bombers should be stripped of -all- gun hardpoints, given 2 extra torpedo hardpoints and a CD hardpoint (so bombers would all have 2-4 torp slots and a CD slot), and then given more specialized torpedo types.
This way fighter guns can be buffed in accuracy and speed, without effecting bombers, and bombers become more focused on an anti-capital role.
