So I've decided I'm going to give pvp in LF's a shot, even though it probably will wind up in disaster...
my most pvp-oriented character is probably my bounty hunter, so I picked her for this, and now she's flying about in a Sea Serpent LF. Still dont have an armor upgrade or even decent shields, but that will come eventually.
Anyone have any tips? Anyone feel like doing a little practice in conn?
I fly my decurion quite a bit, the best tactic is to thrust-turn a lot, and CD spam so your opponent cant EK to fire at you.
If they can see you, they cant hit you.
Somewhere down the line you might consider firing back, however, this might be an afterthought because there is not much in the way of dammage you can do.
I am just basing this on the assumption that you have done the same as i have and not mounted a single missile.
As it has already been stated, the biggest advantage of the LFs is their agility. Just stay out of the enemies field of view and hit him in the flanks with Debs.
I don't know if it's possible to fire Mini Razors from LFs, but if so I will definetly make one. MR FTW!
My advice to you is dodge, dodge, dodge. Dodge until you see and opening, then hit the guy with everything you've got. Then dodge some more. 1 vs 1, you're in for a battle of attrition. Unless the other guy really sucks, or is in something just as fragile, you're going to have to slowly work him down while he hopes and prays to get a bead on you long enough to kill.
In a group fight though, or a furball, you're in heaven. Rarely is someone going to take the time to try to shoot you down, knowing that not only are you hard as hell to hit, but that you're unlikely to be dishing out much damage either. This means that you can act as excellent support for your side.
With my Loki, I have it loaded out with nukes, VIII armour, full debs, and a minirazor. In group battles, I'm a thorn in the enemy's side, never giving them a chance to rest. They spend a fraction to a second too long drifting, I've taken out their shields. They become inattentive for just a moment, I'll mini-razor them out of the blue. There are very few things as amusing as taking out a guys shields and popping a mini in his face, only to drop a nuke on your way out, when you're in a light fighter.
The Slipstream is an amazing LF. I fly it all the time on my Phantom and I can usually rip people apart quite easily. I've flown the Ki, Arrow and Loki. The Ki isn't so great. Its ugly for starters, but the Arrow and Loki are great.
