I've been playing BF2 since it came out. I don't get in the way I used to but it's quite fun.
You want to see some quality play? Join an infantry only server! It's amazing how much better it gets when you take the stick pigs out of the cockpits.

If you want, I can give you some good IP's of some good servers I play in a lot.

Kharkand, and frag grenades.... that is leaving a foul taste in my mouth. Along with the prone jumpers throwing my aim off...

Its a very difficult game for me to master since I haven't played all the maps yet... or unlocked the good sniper rifle...

Only prob is this + Karkand = nade spam.

Still, the A-10 is not really good.
Only has 4 bombs and a gun.

Karkand is NOT a favorite of mine for the reasons you just mentioned although if you can work through it, it's a good map to learn on. It was also the map that I got my expert sniper badge.

Regarding the A-10. It is used only in the Armored Fury maps: Operation Harvest, Operation Road Rage and Midnight Sun. Being that it is used solely for anti-tank and has no real aerial threat against it besides the opposing anti-armor plane, it does rather well. I enjoy flying it.

My favorites are Dragon Valley, Fushe Pass and Dalian Plant.

Those rank pretty high with me too.

Also Jalabad is good infantry map once they US makes it to the city. I think Sharqi is my all time favorite. Unless there's a 24/7 chopper pilot/gunner in the air. Then it can become very very frustrating map.

I don't know why the Special Forces is/was not played that much. The maps were so much better for infantry than the original ones.

The most horrible map for infantry is the Oman. Oh my....

Flying under radar.

Personally I always fly it so damn low I just hit the damn trees.

Still, games with vehicules are nice, only problem are if FF is on, those that I call drunk drivers. Aka, they aint watching jit of where they are going and just kill you if you were in the way.

Karkand IO can still give something nice, ya know when the MEC own all the points on the island and the US all the rest and that it just make a huge fight at the bridge that usually last 'till the end of the round. I just play medic in these cases and rack a lot but I mean a lot of points.

And yes, BF: SF Warlord is nice.
I also like Ghost Town but I am in probably in minority here. CuZ oF zE cHoPpAs. Still, I dont find them to be a problem at all.

Still, will always remember that time when I shot a burst at an ennemy chopper with my G36E just before he crash, giving me two free kills.
