So. I download the new update and wait for the server to come online. Server comes online. I join RP 24/7 and wait two minutes to get the character select screen. Unusual, but I figured it might just be the server recovering after its update.
Framerate at this menu ~0.1fps.
After much trial and error I manage to get the cursor over a character.
I double click.
Loading takes four minutes for me to see the inside of the station. Two minutes after that the change from dark wash to normal brightness seems about right. Fps is the same as it was at the menu, if not worse.
I undock. It takes a long time.
My ship rolls out, or I think it rolls out, I get the action shots in widely spaced stills.
Freelancer crashes.

Hokai. So I try RP USA and SinglePlayer and both are fine, it's just RP 24/7 that's giving me trouble. Any ideas what it might be that is causing this?
--
Edit:
So I reinstalled and tried it again, without my software renderer, just my onboard graphics card-thing. Usual problem of shearing and crash, but high framerate.
Then I tried it with SwiftShader, my software renderer and the original problem occured again. Note that Discovery of Discovery and SP work fine, it's just 24/7 that gives me any trouble.
I'll try a different software renderer.

Edit 2:
Couldn't find a software renderer to match Swiftshader, but I did find a "GMA booster", which allowed me to increase the output of my onboard graphics card. There's still shearing but it's no longer getting overwhelmed and closing freelancer on me. If I abruptly go quiet and appear to F1 though, I apologise.
Now I've just got to get used to all this shearing across my screen again. Buh.
And my report/bounty screenshots will be all kinds of ugly.

Edit 3:
Okay, because the shearing is burning my eyes out I'll be taking a break until either there's some sort of solution with Swiftshader or.. well.. nope, that's about it.
Actually, I've been getting this too, never happened back in .84, only since the .85 betas. It doesn't happen often enough with me for it to become a problem, but when it does happen I always need to reboot to fix it.
It's hard to tell, but really I know this isnt that helpful to your current situation, but I dont think that the card is up for the job, however;
You can try searching for d3d8.dll in your Freelancer\EXE folder if you accidentally activated bloom mod one time or another. Delete this dll if you see it.
I dont know what else to suggest at this point if that isn't your problem, as bloom mod is the only major thing I can think of offhand that increases the graphical requirements of the game, which is a problem for your integrated graphics.
Bloom and ENBSeries have already been deleted. The only d3d8.dll in the EXE folder is from SwiftShader, which I remove when using my intel graphics.
I've already done a full uninstall/reinstall of Freelancer, so Bloom was not activated.
