Basicly I undertsand there's a rule against OORP names. However I have recently created a character that may be considered an OORP name. The RP to me is sound, but i'd like to clear up this issue before immediate and unexpected action is taken.
The character's name is 10
As in the number ten
This character likes to keep a certain level of anonymity of himself although not much effort goes into covering up his tracks. He's rerouted his transmitter to give out the number 10. That's how he, and I, would like to be remembered when someones scanning the radar ahead into further systems. Little can be concluded about his character and who he's with (nobody) by this simple and blank callsign. But when someone finds out what 10 is all about it'l stick in their mind like a rainbow on an oil slick.
There are people who have a single character of punctuation for their character names, for the same reason of role-playing a mysterious sort of person.
As one of them, I would prefer not to get renamed either.

Are you the guy who's name is . ? without the question mark
' Wrote:@Noobl3t: I don't know about your ship being renamed, but if you were just trying to push the intent of the rules then I think it was appropriate.
A note the rules require your name to be pronounceable. I can pronounce '10' and I cannot pronounce '.?'.
Hardly trying to push anything, it was my mysterious order character, which is why it had a one character name.
Having said that, similar names to my character do still exist. (I checked.)

There are also characters who are still named $_$_$8=====XD~~~~~O_o
When time and opportunity presents itself they are taken care of and documented. With the number of characters in the database total cleansing on a totally regular basis are not possible without a substantial investment of time that is better spent on other projects.
So a degree of patience is merited in regards to others receiving similar attention.
If you have a name which you feel falls outside of the standard naming conventions do PM an admin to bring it to their attention. It's understood that a number of handles are unconventional for specific purpose and may have a valid reason, but require additional skylining to avoid being bunched in with the @_@_?LOL and '('s) of the world. That is not to say that your name will necessarily be accepted.
