I have a Dragon, I can do that if you want :P

but on a serious note, nice to see the Junkers getting some proper mining stuff up and working...and the ALG
ALG can still get into Liberty right? I thought they were contracted by the DSE to work cleaning up the scrap fields

As far as I can tell the scrapping system is working well.

I have a Junker ID/IFF, Salvager Frigate, transport mining turrets. I've been scrapping in the New London field and selling at Inverness. I'm filling up within about 5 minutes of mining or so (rough estimation) and making about 13 million a trip.

Thanks Dusty!

Suggestion:

Make different varieties of scrap, depending on where it is.

For instance, scrap armour, scrap engines, scrap machinery etc might be different types. Different sorts could overlap, perhaps. Perhaps scrap fields might occasionally drop bits of ore, making scrapping slightly less reliable than regular mining, but giving occasional lucky strikes.

Different sorts of scrap could offer a variety of routes, though. Different sorts of wreckage, different sorts of sell-points, maybe?

Just an idea.

Or just have four different "scrap metal" commodities, and differentiating them by mirroring/flipping the scrap metal icon. Same as what they've done for Bretonian/Rheinland MOX.

Yes, I am a genius.

I though Overlapping Scrap fields was on the agenda anyway?

Oh great leader, I must humbly agree and admit to your genius.:)

I do like the idea that scrapping might occasionally produce some kind of "luck" based commodity with a higher selling price though.

THIS.

I am with Marlowe, this would be awesome. I also like the idea of separating junk for different locations, encourages cooperation with multiple people. Organize different scraps into different transports, then send them off.

I'd be lawlsy too if junk fields might uncommonly drop basic weapons/shields, perhaps fallen from destroyed fighters and all. They wouldn't sell for much, just add to that feeling of rummaging through a junkyard.

The above is an excellent idea.

Let it drop level 1 weapons and shields so that no one can complain about not having to buy equipment. It would add a lot of flavor missing from scrapping at the moment.
