I have to say, this was THE most fun I have EVER had on the Discovery server. I just want to toss some kudos to our group - dusty, mwerte, zelot, baconsoda, virus (sorry if I missed anyone, but these were the ones I spent the most time with)... I love you guys. Here's to lots of late nights on skype calls and the always amazing transport combat!
I have to admit though, I was shocked about the community's response to our group. I've never seen so much whining, OORP, sanction threats, cussing..... Wow. I was also shocked to learn how I was an OORP lolpirate that needs to be banned from the server. It made me sad in a way, I have never submitted so many sanction reports in all my time put together as I did in the last couple weeks.
Now it wasn't everyone, many miners and traders with ore RP'd with us nicely. Most did not though, I would almost say the majority. I can't believe how anyone would think it's worth it to just die or F1 rather than hand over 1000 of their 5000 ore, but I saw it time and time again. Crazy.
The solution for stopping us was so simple. Bombers. The end.
Some people never figured it out, some did but it took a long time. Gunboats... Trash. We got so good at killing them that it got to the point where we would actually go after groups of 2-3 gunboats. Those were some fun fights.
I absolutely love the mining mod. I hope it becomes a permanent staple in the Disco mod. It adds a great and very fun way to make money. I also am now a huge supporter of starting from scratch when creating new characters. It adds so much more to it all. Makes everything seem so much more valuable. I can't tell you how much fun it was flying around in CSV's and working our way up.
Anywho, thanks everyone for the fun times. I look forward to continuing our play time together when the server mess gets fixed.

It's in Omaha's dump :/
Also, the Falcata was amusing...had only a Nova...
If I remember right, we really didn't have time. All that time we we're there we had another guy in the system yelling at us because of all the traders full of ore that were flying by and all the opportunities we were missing. Plus, it was really hard to communicate with someone speaking in third person like that. I thought it was cool, but at the same time there were several point where we (on our skype call) would get really quiet until someone would say "What?" Cool little RP idea you have, but yeah it can be a little hard to understand in some ways.
Oh and Falcata with only a Nova, that reminds me of a fight we got in against 2 bombers and a gunship. A fight that we should have lost very quickly. The funny part was that both bombers had only a Nova and neither one had any ammo for it.

Meh, I made up for it by going and slaughtering seven people a few days later. After I bombed three ships iiRP. Which was fun.
A cool idea, pity my first reaction to seeing you guys was "Great...Lolwuts..."

Dusty lied to meh -.- I found them out at the first day when they cargo-pairating, I knew who were they, and when I poked Dusty's skype for the lulz he told summut about Mwerte and Zelot ganking his admin basalt.
I kept hearing from people, whether warning me when I was in my Dacite or complaining to me when I was in my KSP Wyrm, that "That guy I.Am.A.Kusari is a complete lolwut! He should be banned!" or "Watch out for Rock.Tumbler. He's breaking rules and being an idiot," or "I.Love.Rocks is a douche. He's just a stupid lolwut." You get the idea. And I would laugh inwardly to myself and roll my eyes upon hearing these.
I don't really know how to put this. I'm gonna hate myself in the morning for saying this, but Dusty & Co., you has win. Not that usual "Haha Dusty's funneh he makes me ololol all night long" kinda win. But the kind you get for doing something amazingly amazing. Your escapades and your report of it all here should really change... things. Mainly within the mining mod, I suppose, but hopefully elsewhere.
Yes, I lied to you. Chiefly because I didn't want people bothering me any moreso than they already were about it.
People who didn't even suspect that I was involved were giving me grief over their being pirated. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if they knew I was leading the charge with a scream of BLOOD AND THUNDER.
I just want to say how much stupendous fun I had and might continue to have being a part of this group. The kusari nationalist RP was a huge amount of fun.
My only character within the group was I.Saw.it.Second. I had some intriguing roleplay with people such as gafwmn, who I honestly thought was probably the best sport about it, and quickly learnt to never trust anyone in a mining ID'd ship without mining turrets.
However, the majority of players weren't like this. The overwhealming majority didnt deal with roleplay by handing out more roleplay, they told me I was breaking the rules, cussed me out, F1'd, anything they could to avoid getting pirated.
The rather funny thing about that, is half the mining ships I ended up blowing up due to them going "//No way in hell f***head!!" then re-engaging ten minutes later on an order funboat (you know who you are), half those mining ships could have broken me over their knee if they had half a thought to do so.
A mining ship with a uni 8 armour and two mining turrets, has eight, yes EIGHT rear facing turrets. If you were to put those 2.00 refire, 1050 damage turrets on there, then you would be able to do an insane amount of damage.
But rather than doing that. They carried no armour, nor any bats or bots half the time, and chose to rule lawyer and swear rather than roleplay and/or fight.
When you are mining, your eye should probably be on the roleplay contained in the situation, rather than the potential for credits.
That said, some of you were astonishingly awesome in roleplay. I remember floating around the tremont rings for an hour, scared to attempt anything due to the daft numbers of mining ships all staring at me and organising themselves, while I waited for one or two on their own. I was so scared to move that I ended up filling my hold with platinum through mining it myself.
