Wow... Nice work on the larger one. I really like the angles and the cutaway look. It really stands out. I took notice immediatly.
I've recently been looking at *gasp the Navy SEALs Newest toy for inspiration. Not all of the ships out there should be "posh" given that we've discussed earlier about people's feelings about an "Faction" ship. The "cigarette boat" idea came straight out of florida *coughs, shipping practices. The notion was to create a small signature a vessel that depends on speed and maneuverability, with armor and armaments being secondary. You can't have both. This could be used in a transport capacity for high risk cargo, *coughs*, scouting, Anything where speed is the first order of business. Love to see your changes, Boss.
i m not entirely sure if a shipline should indulge in luxory. - ( in terms of showing off too much )
- most cooperations become very rich and large, cause they know how where to spend money on - and where not to spend money on.
in my opinion - a faction like interspace would rather use normal, reliable ships that are cheap to maintain, yet powerful enough to do what they are meant to do.
so in freelancer, i expect them to fly the eagle ( reliable, powerful, available almost everywhere and to anyone - which means that maintaining it is quite cheap compared to a specialized ship )
their employees would probably just fly as passengers on an armoured transport.
for very important and / or urgent journeys, the cooperation might have purchased a small fleet of their own armoured transports with room for a real office and space to relax on longer journeys. - they "might" even deploy one or two luxory liners that act as flagships.
luxory in that case is - that those ships don t fly with the usual - thousands of passengers, but with only an exclusive staff. - but from the outside, you wouldn t see a great difference.
showing off too much - especially as an insurence company might be detrimental. - in the end, they are no producing company but one that is meant to put the customers fees to a good use. - using what their customers pay them, just to show off; could easily backfire.
the problem is that we re talking about stock ships here - not special ships. - certainly - they got one or maybe two flagships that really look amazing - inside - and maybe even outside. - but their "fleet" should rather look quite common.
Jinx, I have to assume from your post, that you have not read, or do not understand IND rp. Our RP is that we are richer than everyone else in Sirius, and act that way. We want a ship that is negatively balanced to its price, what I mean, is that we want a ship that is really really expensive, with no other reason except that it looks nice. It should not be the best ship out there, but it should be the most expensive. The whole point of the IND and the ship line would be to indulge in luxury.

So, you want a Ferrari with the engine of a Pinto.
Zelot's right. The IND is so incredibly wealthy that it would have no problems spending billions of credits on its own lavish luxury ships. But wasn't this ship line meant to be for other Interspace players as well? Players who aren't as ridiculously rich as the IND? I mean, I realize that the price tag will be extremely high, making it infeasible for anyone but the IND to use the ships, but still...

So, IND wants to broadcast that every employee is Richard Branson. We can cut the Pinto out then. This would probably be the first and only dedicated set of ships to say look at my manhood and wealth.

Just throwing that out there.
The liner and the transport will be open to all, the Liner though, I wouldnt think would be used Interspace, but instead by people who rp as filthy rich.
Here is the latest thing...Added more engines, as per request, lost the Corsair-ish wing-things, and overall made it more win. IMHO.
