Leave Liberty. Seriously, get the hell out of there, don't you realise that what you're doing is the most simple route currently available? There are tons of pirates, because everyone is doing it.
Solution: go mine in Omega systems. Profits are similar, just the lolpirates are missing.
' Wrote:90% ? Your figures are, as I tell you, hugely incorrect. I know many great RP'ers from most major Liberty trading factions.
Seems to me that you're just an arrogant, bitchy and angry pirate who perhaps met a few powertraders. Your RP may be no better than what I'd expect from an average pirate.
Who are you to judge the RP standards of every trader on the server? Huh?
Dunno why are you insulting me. No I really didn't meet every trader at server and I don't judge every trader. I just say lot of traders can't RP. And I don't say I'm the best RPer and everybody except me is noob. I'm not interested in agressive posts. I'm just normally discussing situation.

True. Everybody is crying that in Liberty there are tons of pirates. Go at other place. In Sirius there are 5 houses, Sigmas, Omegas, Omicrons. Liberty isn't everything.

Maybe... to be honest... this is what happen in very many cases:
Pirate: 10 mil or you die!
Trader: OOC: wait a min
Pirate: you are running!
(the tradere was just answering a phone call in real world and his trasport was not moving at all)
The pirate attacks and destroy the trader.
Is this roleplay? I would name it in a different way... before blaming traders for lack in RP, go around and check how much RP is really done by pirates...

Blodo is right, back in 4.84 there was the Diamond/Niobium route that was heavily used by traders. This resulted in a drastic spike in pirate population. I did the next best route back then, the Engines/Berylium route, and because I was less pirated then if I had done Diamond/Niobium route I made more profit doing so.

This is sooo much more like what i have seen. Heck i got "stop" i said "nah" Then i here "ok now you die" Then i get hit by 2 super nova's,and a ton of nuke mine's. Whole encounter lasted maybe 30 sec's. I never even got a demand for cash, or cargo. And before anyone tell's me screen it,and put in sanction's... Well i did,and nothing. So you see. A pirate can do anything he want's,and get's away with it. A lawful doe's anything, and sanction city. Just look in sanction's. Most are lawful's. I will admit they may be because of real nasty OORP,or other ofences, but i have seen the same with pirate's but nothing.
That is why people are going pirate. To much leeway to what they can do,but lawful's have a strict guideline of what they cannot do.
Leaving Liberty, while I'm sure is one answer, it may just be a short term answer.
My perspective on this topic is that this isn't really about the way you die or even the lack of RP between pirate and piratee but more the lack of necessity for RP on the pirates behalf and the need of so much more on the lawfuls side.
Thats why theres so many pirates and so few police/military. It's just easier with less hassle and less threats of sanctions.
RP comes with practice. Kick em hard enough and you'll get them there but having fun is a lot harder to get with so many restrictions placed upon you.
You may get some good insights and see the perspective from the other side in that thread and it might go some way to explain why there are so many more pirates and so few lawfuls.
Playing a lawful is a hard, tough, unappreciated, outgunned, undermanned, crap job.
More people would rather play an unlawful because it doesn't have the restrictions of the lawfuls.
If things keep progressing the way they are going, there wont be many lawfuls left, then we can set back and watch the unlawfuls kill each other because they are bored.

There is so high of pirates in some houses because trade routes/mining locations are imbalanced. I havent seen one pirate in Kusari, and yet in liberty EVERY LANE gets interupted by a player pirate.
The pirate problem is out of control because, simply, nobody wants to play a police character. Why be police when navy can do everything police can and more?
