In the near future I want to make a Mercenary char and I wanna know...
1. If its allowed to have a Bottlenose or the Conference with Mercenary ID...the Tech chart says that the Zoner and BHG tech can be used by mercenarys, but I want to be 100% sure...
2. - This is crucial. Best and most neutral way to go is being Freelancer affiliated as well. But honestly, why don't you pick a side?
Flying an unlawful mercenary will get you in trouble with the lawful law enforcers. And I don't want anyone complaining then, because even tho an ID is the crucial part, the afiliation can determine will you be hunted or not.
3. If I get an freelancer affiliation does that mean i'm neutral?
- yeah, basically means you're free game for all unlawful pilots. Harr harr
@ OPG Ivan: With picking up a side do you mean player faction? If yes, I explain it. In primary I play on another server where I am in a DevTeam and in a clan. In the clan rules are stated the any kind of multiclaning is prohibited. These is meaned for all the FL servers. These multclaning means that I cannot be in another clan, faction, assosiation etc., so I play here and on other mods as an indie player. So picking a side for me applies only for npc factions - npc tag...
I think that the Freelancer tag doesnt make me automatically neutral...Mercenaris are semi-lawfulls so they can be attacked by booth unlawfull and lawfull forces...
Unless you're an unlawful mercenary like the Children of Conviction are.

But really, I was wondering about the Zoner gunboat too, does that require a Zoner Guard ID and Tag like most Zoner ships? Or is that one exempt like the fighters?

Last time i had a merc with BHG ship/guns i got a 1 hour warning before getting the entire faction on my back... but that was some time ago tho
Yeah, just because the tech chart says it good doesn't really mean you can have things. The Bottlenose and Orca both are only sold in one spot - our Guard system. This is by design. Since it happens that the Guard system is owned - if you do not have a BHG ID and you enter that system - you're trespassing and are a dead man.

I plan it as a lawfull vessel owned by a Private military company...the background is not defined yet, couse 1st I need the money for the ship and the short background story. Short becouse my English is too crappy to make long stories:((
