"Aw shucks we have space on the disk left"
"Hmm what to do"
"We flesh out the story a little"
"HEY GUYS, Microsoft just bought us out"
"Monkey System?"
"Dude, you just read my mind"
Hence Kappa was born
Well the Theta/Kappa jumphole could suddenly re-stabalize ...................
Also, as for the monkeys, I could be mis-remembering infocards but SOME of the zoner colonists got left behind after the nomads destroyed the evac fleet and the JH collapsed, I look at the monkeys as the decendents of those zoners, heavily mutated due to the radiation.
Sigma-60 is an excellent choice on the OC side of Eta.
It is an empty system for now. It has an OC guard system (in fact two OC guards come 4.86) and the GMG guard system connected to it.
Question is does an Eta connection to Kappa put it too close to the Corsairs? I would say not - as it connects to Theta now which is still one system away.
I guess the purpose of this thread was to put the battlefront back into the Sigmas - but if people still want Eta to be the battlefront that probably wont happen.

Sorry, that is a complete butchering of evolutionary theory. It would be far more plausible to have those apes (and they are apes not monkeys) as the leftovers of human/nomad experimentation.
But that is a bit OT. At any rate would people be interested in a poll on this?
What of renaming Eta to a Sigma name, and connecting it to 60 and 19? This would allow for Sigma conflicts between the GMG and Corsairs (in Sigma/Eta and 19), the GMG and Outcasts (in Sigma/Eta and 60), the Outcasts and Corsairs (in Sigma/Eta and the others), as well as the continued conflict in 17 and 19.
Thing is, if it's just another sigma system - then people would simply go through 17-19 to kill each other.
If it were to be a sigma system, then the link between 19 and 17 would need to be abolished, then Eta would be placed to link 19 and 17 together - therefore the only way to get to either Gamma or Alpha to attack each other - would have to go either through Eta or Sigma 13.
However, that's impossible seeing as there's already a jumpgate there.
Gotta think of how the Hispanics (and others) will travel to encounter each other.
Currently it goes Alpha-Eta-Theta-Gamma. 4 systems.
If you wanted to go through the Sigmas it is Alpha-Beta-s19-s17-Theta-Gamma. 6 systems.
Major Hispanic fleet movements almost always take the Eta route. It is the path of least resistance.
What I am proposing is to make the Sigmas the path of least resistance again. And giving explorers/nomads an option to bypass both Hispanic Houses in order to move around (with a chance of getting caught in between both of them as well).
So my proposed route would be Alpha-O85(or Beta-s64)-s60-Eta-Kappa-Gamma. Still 6 systems, but with pros/cons for each way to go.
REVISED ETA ROUTE
Pros: 1) Away from prying eyes.
2) Allows access to nomad contested space.
Cons: 1) Passes through OC guard systems
2) Passes through nomad contested space.
3) May be further in terms of overall distance.
TRADITIONAL SIGMA ROUTE
Pros: 1) More chance of encounters with other borderworlds traffic.
2) Some neutral bases enroute.
Cons: 1) Chance of GMG ambushes (could also be a pro depending on how keen you are to reach the other Hispanics).
2) Interference from other borderworlds traffic (though not like the old Sigma-13).
Well connecting it from s-60 to Kappa is reason enough - as it gives a more 'sideways' connection than one that brings the Hispanics almost to each others' door. I expect that both the GMG and order (and Nomads) would exploit the new connections when things are quiet there.
Increase mine field in Eta.. incease it a lot so it would pay out going other ways... or somehow blow up Eta with some experimental weapon from OC/Corsair that failed and took out whole system..
then later when we get rid of Eta we can think something about adding new system to its place...
Lolz.. Any faction can move from one place to other.. i think it would be interesting..
Even i don't see any problems with Eta or Sigmas.. you can always say lets hit Gamma/Alpha from Sigmas .. so that would be nice.. problem is in players and not in systems.
But when there is many of these that support somehow removing Eta or adding fast sigma way.. maybe it wouldn't be bad..
