that way, if everyone clusters in one place... well ......... they can enjoy the pirates while other folks go somewere else.
It's more like, three sell points per mining run.
Gold Sells in Bretonia for pennys for the Lazy, Liberty for the Meh, and Rheinland for the ones willing to risk it for profit.

@ Zapp: Here's the positive of spreading things around ... the more people gather in one spot ... the more you'll attract pirates. Just like picnics attract ants ... they go where the food is. If you spread the food around ... you don't have giant ant hills to contend with.
Exactly. Makes things a lot better for not only pirates, but escorts who are then hired to take out those pirates, or mercs/freelancers/hunters who respond to bounties placed by miners. Law enforcement also can come out in force.
Something I've been toying with in my mind. I see it as a way to add a new dynamic for trading.
Pick a planet or station, and Create a RP-able event, such as a natural disaster, change in government, or invasion.
Pick a commodity, one that would be reasonably needed during such an event.
Give some kind of a bonus to those who deliver the commodity, such as a better selling price, or a change in reputation.
Another way it could work out.
One faction Challenges another for a system.
A planet/station is chosen for a final battle.
Each side has to move a set number of provisions before the other side, those who do so first, win the planet.
IE: 25000 Military Vehicles and 50000 Light arms are required to take over the system. Each faction hires traders to gather the required materials, and escorts them to their destination. They also hire the criminal elements in their oppositions system to try to disrupt their enemies' convoys.

What do you guys think?
Prehaps add temp changes to routes based on events ?
