I probably still don't understand the full implications of this interesting proposal.
Still, while giving more place for RP and interpretion it would probably also make it harder to judge whether an action made by a character is supported by the specific roles and role play of all characters involved (in case of complaints, warnings and bans).
She: Some soldiers, I know, are afraid of death.
He: All of them, dear lady, all of them, believe me. It is our duty to live as long as we can, and kill as many of the enemy as we can.
I'd rather we remove the RP aspect from ID's altogether and put a notice there that they're OORP information. The whole powercore thing doesn't really make much sense.
The hell is a "pirate powercore" or "freelancer powercore".
Generic ID's would have generic powercores, the maintenance, fuel it used, etc might give some indication of the general standing but probably not much.
For being an RP community there seems to be some people here without the most creativity....
PS. I wouldnt mind it becoming totally OORP either, as long as ti is clear what it is, because right now, it really isnt.
Why not just rename the IDs so they make more sense? Such as registration codes, like;
LPI: Your ship is registered to the Liberty Rogues, that is a law violation, prepare to be arrested.
That could also turn the "U HAZ PIRAT ID" to a "Forged Civilian ID", so when you scan a ship, it's more RP to say that "your ship has false registration codes" rather than the former.
Same applies to the "U HAZ NO ID" which would mean "your ship does not appear to be registered in any of the Sirius databases, please get a registration ASAP."
Would make more sense if they were simply called otherwise.

Ok so you have Generic Powercore for let's say Freelancers and Pirates.
Now if we have to put the necessary ID info on it, how will that work out?
Good idea but it won't address the problem that is the ID system. This wouldn't change a thing for the people that already think the ID is an ooRP info card. Neither would it change it for the people who skate by on the min RP.
Easier fix? Make IDs ooRP info. State it on them clearly. No need to try to distguise them and bring them into RP.
