i intend to add that station to maybe delta ( or another rather remote system ) - its mostly a TEST station.... to see how a custom mesh looks - and works with docking / undocking.
omicron delta should receive the new lost battlestar "wreck", too - next version.
now before you say "thats too large for the remote station of freeport 11" - it has a reason to place something like that there. - freeport 11 doesn t upset too much - cause its quite far away - and there are traders, fighters, gunboats and battleships docking with it alike - making it a good test platform.
if that station does work well - its the start for custom stations ( from my side ) - i have made some attempts before - but thats the first one that i really worked on up to the skinning.

this station is large. - another reason to put it into delta. - i d like to see how a station that is somewhat "scaled up accordingly" looks. - this station is as large as a juggernaut is long - and should provide an idea of what a real space habitat might be like.
polycount is rather high though ( ~ 20k polygons )
That looks like you might expect a Freeport to.
It's not overly reminiscent of Freelancer, but perhaps that's what was being aimed for.
The form fits the function, I should think - except for the fact that I don't really see any mooring points for large vessels. Freeport 11 gets a LOT of large vessels.
Maybe you could make four more arms, sticking out between the existing four. You could make them similar to mooring fixtures, just larger and better and more station-like.
This seems more like a sector headquarters to me.. It'd be much better to be a replacement for Freeport 9 than Freeport 11. Freeport 9 gets ships of all classes just like FP11, but is a major economic station in the middle of the Omicrons. A station that'd be most likely to be upgraded, as well as larger than average.
the design is not meant to resemble the vanilla stations. - partly, cause i consider the vanilla station design to be horrible - and partly, cause we can really add stations with smoother shapes and more elaborate forms.
there is no visible mooring point - yes. ... nither are there docking bays. ships of all sizes would need to use quickdock / invisible docking points at a distance from the station itself.
I'm talking about physical mooring points, Jinx. To make it look realistic.
Not the actual game-mechanic mooring points.
Also, Dab might be right about this being more suited for Freeport 9.
For the reasons he's given, as well as the fact that Freeport 9's biodomes are supposed to be something special. Given the unique and rather large domes this station possesses, it might be somewhat more suited to Nine (as it's hard to see how it's so "important" in RP when plenty of other stations have bigger and better biodomes).
EDIT: And the more I consider it, this just seems to fit Freeport Nine. It seems to be designed to replace it, it suits the "character" of the base exactly. It really is exactly like the next incarnation of Freeport Nine. It fits the station very well indeed.

All of its RP and Lore and importance shouldn't be erased just because the Zoner Guard system is right next to it. (In fact, it's amplified - why put the Zoner Guard system right next to that particular Freeport? Because it's the most important one, I'd wager!)

station wise........... I say put that in the omicrons somewere.
Anywere near house space, Zoners should use whats cheapest. Standard pre-fabed station parts, usualy on an abandoned station at that.
However, expand the existing freeports.
FP1, add additonal solar pannels, prehaps additonal bio domes. Do it somewhat hodge podge, to reflect that bits were added over time.
Do the same with most other freeprots, too. At least the busy ones.
Use the new custom freeprots for omicron/omega space were its harder to get pre-fabricated station components, so the Zoenrs build their own.
Prehaps re-do various unlawful stations to use a mix of prefab materials and the new meshes.
For omicron74, have all the stations use the new meshes.
The shipyard...... give that a massive expansion, prehaps a half built Juggy in one of the docks ?
