New screenshot contest

What about a new screenshot contest? The last contest was interrupted by lots of delays and misunderstandings... I have to apologize for that, but 2nd time hopefully things get better.

I'm starting a temp thread for collecting suggestions about how the contest should be held (nominations? prizes?). Also, I'd appreciate links to good free image hosting sites, for posting screenies as forum attachments is not recommended. We've got limited hosting space.

When organization issues will be settled, an official thread for the contest will be created... the length of contest will be about 1 month, with a poll for the best ones starting immediately afterwards.

You can take Discovery screenshots already, on RP or PvP server or single!

May I suggest www.forumsigs.com, it allows 15 pictures at 250k size each, just a suggestion.

Prizes, I suggest 5 winning positions... All with a different amount of Credit awards.


But now we need to figure out how to handle it all... As well, these 2 servers are very big. So there will be a lot of submissions, not really sure how to handle that one.


As for image hosting, just use Photobucket:P

I would suggest that you use Photobucket as well. You can host as many pictures as you want and for free.

Also, I like Dboys Suggestion. HAve around 5 prizes/categories since their are alot more people here then their were when the last contest was up.

Sounds like a good idea, I think the Admins should be the ones deciding the prizes (Nightfall,Korrd, Igiss, Angel) And they can jusge who has the best screenies.

It's time to run the new contest, and I'm absolutely out of ideas on how to do this. Having 5 prizes is OK, but I have no idea what those 5 could be...

The format of final voting is also yet to be decided, but imho it would be better if admins review the screenshots, choose some of them for a poll, and let everyone decide who's the best (second best, third best).

Rewards... only thing I can promise is that they will be worthy.

As for image hosting, we've got http://photobucket.com and http://forumsigs.com and I'm sure that there are more. Attaching screenshots to the forum will be allowed only in exceptional cases.
