I had this idea too when talking with some mates in RHA chat. One fascist/nazi organisation, based maybe in Liberty or Rheinland... Could be some pirate fighting the governement to instal a fascistic regime. Or a bunch of vigilante ? Or maybe a branch of the Xenos ? Could be very interesting to RP.

Here is the problem as I see it. Fascist movements dont start out by saying "Hey, lets start a fascist movement." The development takes time and does not start with the goal of fascism. Fascism is never the goal. People generally dont think of themselves as oppressive of aggressive, but instead see themselves as trying to accomplish something good with an attitude of "the ends justify the means."



Saying things like....

means not that you want to start a fascist group, but instead that you want to start a Nazi/Falangism/Integralism group. Facsism can come out of many different political ideas. Most look at the Soviet Union during Stalin's regime as fascist. The Kamire Rouge in Cambodia was fascist but came out of an Agrarian revolution. We have also seen fascism coming out of constitutional monarchies, as we as out of countries with democratic traditions.

Fascism is more about the tactics used then the goals of the movement. So saying someone wants to start a fascist faction is akin to saying that you want to fly in a hot air balloon without a basket to ride in.

Within DiscoveryGC? Absolutely terrible idea. The lack of foresight exercised here is as astounding as the lack of judgment. How do you think for a second that this sort of thing will fly around here? That you could carry it off and people would smile and nod? Or is this some kind of litmus test.

Also I'm really glad that you want to stress that Nazi ideals aren't your goal. But if you don't want people to bring them up maybe you shouldn't list them as standing at the core of your ethos.

Rather than opening up with "Hey I'm interested in exploring the idea of creating an insular group which maintains a strong emphasis on preservation of selfidentity over others and shuns external influence as inferior" you go right for the "We're gonna RP Nazis but it's RP so douse the flame throwers kk"?

Erm, after realizing that I myself didn't read the original post clearly, I have only this to say.

A Fascist faction? might be interesting, yes, and could possibly create some very nice Roleplay.

HOWEVER

If you wish to create a fascist faction purely to get away with creating something along the lines of a large scale Xeno Movement, i.e. (So you can get away with being basically a Nazi) by saying "Oh no we're fascists, not Nazis" Well then, that is incredibly a bad idea.

I guess I should've read more carefully.

Bad idea.

There are a lot of factions with fascist traits already, like the SCRA, Xenos, Red Hessians.

What your "fascist faction" will be is actually a faction that will RP nazism.

And it will become a home for people who have a nazi mindset in real life (we certainly do have a few in this community, just like we probably pedophiles, racists, and future columbine-style amok shooters).

A few people will think of it as RP fun, and the real nazis will hide among those to spread their nazi propaganda saying "oh it wasnt as bad as people say".

Apart from that, you can live out your pedophile fantasies with children while masturbating behind your computer, and you can try to convince people to deny the holocaust and say "oh its only RP in game".

German Verfassungsschutz wont care if you say it was only RP and not serious for these 2 things.
They are illegal in some countries, period, and you will get prosecuted.

Same for that kind of fascists/nationalists faction. It could be great. Because, quite frankly guys, I don't know where you live but there are still this kind of guys in the world. And I guess they will be always here.
