Congratulations to Max Durden. He's been promoted from Recruit Officer to Regular Officer.
Paychecks have also been sent. If you didn't get yours, that's because your neural net wasn't accepting transfers. Please get with us ASAP with your information.
after getting in trouble with the boss, i hightailed it back to Erie, and refitted myself with the patriot...don't ask.
anyways, after that, i ran some patrols with fellow officers John Goodman, Jim Markey and none other than the Chief himself, Matt Myers! i must say, it was a real honor flying by his side.
first, we patrolled the texas systems trade lanes, nothing was going on there, so we made our way back to new york, where we met back at manhattan. afterwords, me and another officer flew patrols through the new york tradelanes, when we get reports of Hackers. we went in pursuit, and we got the orders to stand down, and let the chief take care of them, for one of them was flying a bigger ship. i myself could not tell what it was, for i followed my orders, and hanged back, so my scanners were to far to scan the vessel.
after a long one on one fight, the hacker called it quits, and left the area peacefully. then, out of nowhere, a--***DELETED***
so after the chase, i made my way back to west point, to fill this report out, and drink some sunbucks.
Jean: I must confess, as infuriating and arrogant as Gambit can be, those eyes, that grin, that body, it takes a girl's breath away. Cyclops: Oh, really? It began like any other day, hunting and chasing lane hackers, then, out of the blue came a nomad fighter, This nomad fighter observed the LPI forces for a while (It had no weaponry) then I'm afraid due to the possible PR fiasco we had to chase it out of civilised space.
The chase that ensued was an extremely annoying oneas it appeared to believe that it was playing a game. After a short while it became annoyed and was easily herded into the badlands. It is believed to still be in the badlands, hiding amongst the rocks.
Quote:Officer (Unlimited); The regular ranks of the LPI, with no supervisory authority or power. They will generally operate only in their own system. Officers may fly a Liberator, Arrow, Griffin, or Guardian (on request). LPI-Name.Surname[O]
Recruit Officer (Unlimited); The lowest of the low, these flatfoots are required to prove themselves by completing certain menial tasks, logging time in space, and other things as well as passing a written exam. Recruits may fly the Liberator. LPI-Name.Surname[RO]
Please review the above changes. Recruit Officers are now allowed to fly the Liberator, and must have the suffix [RO] in their name.
The range of ships available to regular Officers has expanded.
Man, where do i start? Well after i got the news about being promoted, i started my shift by getting to Illinois, and upgrading to the Liberator. And as i was heading there, i got a report that there was a huge fleet of Outcast and Hacker ships near the Jumpgate to California! well, i did my best to rush to get my ship and the best upgrades i could afford, and get my tail over to west point.
When i arrived, i formed up with a mix bag of fighters and capital ships to repel the pirate fleet. a mix of LSF, LPI, Navy, i think i even saw a USI ship in the mix. and a couple of Freelancers came in to help.
After we all formed up, we jumped to California, when i saw was incredible: several wings of fighters, and a couple of Outcast Gunships!
I recieved orders to take out the Gunships, and i did what i did best. we managed to take out two of them, and a couple of fighters, when the rest started to bug out.
it was a impressive fight, and not bad for a newly promoted Officer if i must say!
after the battle, i was ordered to patrol California for a suspected Cardimine smuggler. i was en route back to the gate, when i encountered two Rogues, who would not leave the public area, they opened fire, and i called out for some assist. we destroyed one, but the other jumped to California. we jumped right after, but i lost the Rogue on my scanners.
so i went on with my patrol with another officer, and a bounty hunter, when we encountered a couple more pirates, three in total, running into the field.
we entered pursuit, when we find that we are to close to Alcatraz base. i called off the pursuit, for we are too close to the pirate base, and i was weary from all this fighting, and i needed to patch my ship up.
so i headed to Los Angeles, and started repairs, then hit the bar.
Thus ending my shift.
In summary: 1 gunship and 2 fighters killed by me, but it was a group effort taking out the gunship. but i took out the remaining armor it had left.

Well, it's been good to be back on the active force now that I'm all recovered from those gunshot wounds and the whole "diabetes" thing. I think I lost a few pounds in all that's gone on... doc says it's close to fifty pounds, actually. Anyways, I got me a Guardian and outfitted it with some of our excess stock that we got from shutting down an illegal gun-running ring.
I found an Artifact smuggling Gull near Norfolk, but it turn and ran a bit too soon, and I was stuck trailing it 3.2k behind as it ran for the New York jump hole. Keep an eye out for Jenaro.Zabaneta
Then I smoked some whiny little punk Rogue in a Werewolf along the Norfolk - West Point lane.
That was yesterday. Today I was going to move the Leavenworth back to Texas (from Fort Bush) when I got a call about a hostile fleet occupying California, among them the elusive Metropolis; the Vagrant Raider's Spyglass. I ordered a course change and amassed a sizable force before moving to intercept the fleet. We were victorious, though the Spyglass had disappeared before we got there. The Leavenworth personally disposed of three Outcast gunships; two Mortar hits and one primary barrage. We also gunned down a Barghest on a strafing run and deshielded one that was laying a Nova torpedo on it; his ship exploded in the blast radius. Special kudos to the gunners, who performed admirably.
Took out the San Quentin and did some border-patrol duty in Texas. Not many embargo runners, but we did find one Hacker Gunship that tried everything -- even disrupting the lane and yelling 'smuggler!' as someone flew past -- to get us off his trail. To no avail. Karl Agathon did stop one smuggling Camara, but he was unaware that there even was a war going on!
Regardless. We engaged into combat with the Hacker Gunship, and gave him quite the thrashing -- not by as wide a margin as I would've liked, but he still ran home with his tail between his legs. And the only reason he managed to run home was a cruise disrupt malfunction... but I digress.
Later I took my Guardian on patrol at the report of a Barghest, who cried out "police harassment" despite the fact that we had a witness to him pirating, he was in an illegal ship, and he was affiliated with the Liberty Rogues. We gave him 'harassment'... however the punk got lucky and somehow nailed both me and Colin Sinclair with a bunch of mines while he was running and yelling and likely pissin' himself. No idea how I got hit with four mines all at the same time, but whatever.
To start I had a little banter with a Lane Hacker gunship, he then engaged me and a navy pilot. The navy pilot then proceeded to flee leaving me with the hacker, suffice it to say that a liberator can't take gunships too well. An LPI officer then took me to Huntsville to get refitted. As I launched I was dumbstruck, A Rheinland Military Cruiser was waiting above Houston, seemingly waiting for some prey. The cruiser then entered the trade lane and headed for the Virginia system. After calling up some Liberty gunships I asked them to wait until I could discover his intended destination. After divulging that he was heading for California I got the gunships down to cut him off and a bloody fight ensued. After unfortunately being destroyed, a few seconds later I was told that the cruiser was destroyed
