Perhaps they are trying to reduce our credits before releasing the new content, (they cant raise the value of the credit because of money caps) so that not everyone will have every new thing at once.
Remember that even though just because we are here for RP doesn't mean we dont need stuff to save up to- goals, ship wishes and so on. Without these things, the mod falls apart.
' Wrote:Yes. But I can barely stand trading for more than 30 minutes now. Why? Not because I'm lazy or impatient, because I've done the route so many times, it has become a chore to do it.
you are free to choose any other trade routes that are just as good as your current one with some new RP. which is by the way an achievement of the new economy.
You are also free to trade in window mode while doing other stuff, like any other sane person.
' Wrote:Old members who have gathered billions and billions of credits in ships, armor, and cash before 4.85's economy update, you don't need to post here. Please.
Unfortunately, you will find that I will still post.
Even more unfortunately, you will find that I support your post.
' Wrote:guys you have no idea what a complex and overwhelming web this damn economy is. And right now there is only one person planing it with a bunch of helpers. all of whom have a real life to attend to.
So what I suggest is this:
A) You have patience or
B) You make constructive route proposals with concrete numbers and locations AND try double check if you don't accidentally create some uber exploitable route while doing so
Patience is all well and good, we just want it changed before 4.86 comes out.
There was a concrete proposal in another thread.
Increase all routes profitability to 200% of it's current value. Increase mining yields by 400%.
There you go.

Cawdor is of course saying he will cover insurance costs should our lane get disrupted and we get pirated during this, or some eager pirate who destroys us, or we crash into a planet and so on.
@Cawdor, Trading in another route doesn't reduce the level of emptiness that power-trading ( Which I do not consider to be part of the actual game) leaves me with, and the extreme level of pirates has made it nearly impossible for the most of us to trade in windowed mode.
EDIT: Cawdor, I don't know what route you trade on, but I want you to tell me so I can pirate you. (pirating makes more money than trading if you do it right. Especially if there are no other pirates in the area.)
Actually, it ain't that repetitive if you do it windowed. Sure you dock the lanes every few seconds. But every now and then there is some scan going on or pirates or half the house lawfuls hunting you because you mess with embargos where half the characters on the server know you by name and want to pin your head on their grill.
Its just a matter of approach, really.
I do all that stuff while checking emails or writing on the forums. Actually, I'm trading as we speak. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.
The only thing you REALY need cash for is a damn cap. and if you want that big useless can - well you gotta invest some time in it. And while you do that, you are in fact allowed to ponder weather or not it's worth it.
The subject of this thread is approximately 1/3rd of why I currently RP as a forum troll and not a very egotistical and proud liner captain who should have much more money than he actually does. Trading (of any kind) deserves to be profitable and enjoyable, not a hopeless grind designed to keep players away from Battleships and feed the pirates.

EDIT: Oh, bloody hell, Caw, is that your excuse? We can't make money just to have it? I gave up on maintaining any ships except my supposed moneymaker and still couldn't make a profit, not to mention the only RP I ever got out of it usually ended in me being destroyed by some arse in a bomber or a Ptrans because, in the end, the pirates want their money (don't you dare deny it), and that nice blue message. My profit margins sucked flying the best possible runs I could, and I wasn't even buying anything! Not to mention I couldn't fly 5K without being pirated unless I wanted to avoid tradelanes and take half a bloody hour on a run that grossed seven million credits. Don't you DARE tell us that we only trade because we want Battleships.

Again, Cawdor, what route are you doing? Let me come over there and pirate you whilst you're not paying attention, and when that happens I'll get tired of waiting for you to start paying attention again, and for lack of a better term, all of your stuff will be gone and your ship will be at the last base it docked at, it's frustrating, it really is.

if you wouldn't you'd spend two hours per week at a max on your trader and thus not need to complain about it. so yes, i DARE.
