' Wrote:Ronja is a free technology project for reliable optical data links with a current range of 1.4km and a communication speed of 10Mbps full duplex.
Applications of this wireless networking device include backbone of free, public, and community networks, individual and corporate Internet connectivity, and also home and building security. High reliability and availability linking is possible in combination with WiFi devices. The Twibright Ronja datalink can network neighboring houses with cross-street ethernet access, solve the last mile problem for ISP’s, or provide a link layer for fast neighborhood mesh networks. Ronja is a satisfying project.
Harley, you're bringing the sinner out in me! The temptation is too great.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
@Korrd:
No past tense. We have 3 self-constructed working links, all of them in invisible infrared range and they all work for 3 years without any service needed. The longest one, however needs to be backed up by a radio link just in case snow or fog comes. Two of them are installed on the roof of our house.
It's a beautiful hobby, but REALLY time consuming, so I switched to Freelancer :-P
But we're getting off topic here...:)
@Harley:
Okay, no depolarizing undepolarizable zero kelvin beams. Rick&Fnordie succesfully escaped, hope you like his new surprise, as you always do.:)
@Fighting Chicken:
Sorry, I never wen fishing, ask Malaclypse, he's a fishing specialist.
Hey! it might have been the first try out of the jet pack before you realized you needed a little height to get it to work properly! It sure looks like one......
Well, whatever the depolarizer does, I sure want one now!
Coming back to the jetpack thought. I guess I t was kinda foolish, cause the Tubes were sticking in the bottom and the open part on the top. I guess if you wanted to shoot urself into the ground it might be effective.....
