Take a look at these and pay close attention to the things circled in red:
Not the most discrete, tactful, or elequant of pirates, but hey everyone can't be Phate or Polaris :PSo we continue further:
So now we have a member of your offical faction ordering a member of an unoffical faction to attack the pirates. Nothing wrong with that is there? Oh wait:
Ordering this:
To shoot at this:
There is something VERY wrong with that. With good sense the the guys ran, but hey anyone with a microscopic amount of sense would run when a Battle Cruiser is ordered to shoot at their P Trans.
So in closing:
A) Where do you want the unredacted SS PM'd too?
B) Please educate your people so they don't abuse their being in a offical faction in this specific manner or any other.
C) At least this time he didn't curse. (You see not all bad news)
I mean, there is nothing wrong with ordering him to do so in role play. That is a perfectly valid tactic to scare off a pirate.
Now when it comes to server rules?
The cruiser can't and should not have complied. That doesn't mean he can't be ordered to do it or act like he is going to do so in an effort to run the pirates off. Its called a bluff.
Unless the cruiser actually fired your complaining about a faction actually role playing..........which is a rather moot complaint since this is an RP server.
I kept myself too far away to know whether it opened fire or not so I'm not going to comment on that.
Cross RP that involves breaking the rules, especially from an official faction to a non-official/indie with potential shaky understanding of the rules could result in disaster. That's a Pandora's box you don't really want to ever open. The entirety of Tau 23 wouldn't have been warned if everyone their had a firm grasp on the rules.
Also by your thought path:
101st going "hey you, indie Storta pilot, kill this miner if he doesn't drop his ore in ten seconds" is ok by you.
It might just be RP and a bluff until that one time a miner catches a LM with his shields.
That's a slippery road I don't want to see any official faction to go down; be they lawful or unlawful.
As long as it isn't the faction leader, or the second in command of IMG| an indy or member of an unofficial faction can't be ordered to do anything anyway. So if that Cruiser would have opened up, it'd be his problem.
As for someone has any grasp on the server rules, that isn't really up to you to decide if you don't know the person, isn't it?
If the rules allowed it, I'd be all for that IMS shooting that Junker with his Battlecruiser. The Junker demonstrated no roleplay whatsoever, was literally out just to kill, as evidence of the fact that he gave the Miner about 5 seconds. That player is the epitome of what's wrong with Disco.
The IMS (if he didn't shoot the transport) did nothing wrong. The IMG/CR did nothing wrong. They roleplayed, and kudos to them for that.
This negativity directed towards them right now is rather petty.
Feel free to PM me the redacted screen shots, but there is no problem here.
If you honostly think that a perfectly legitimate request in roleplay is a problem because it would be against the rules to comply, then please think about this situation further;
If the cruiser had been a gunboat, there would be no reason to rage.
If the cruisers shooting transports rule had been amended to allow them to fire on transports when escorting ships of the same NPC faction as themself, then there would also be no reason to rage.
This feels like one of those "I'll blame people because I can" moments.

Just to let you know, That I would like to improve your faction activity.
Since its been a while since the last sight, I would greatly appreciate if I could have a discussion with a faction manager. I have important ambition for the guild but I cannot do as much as an Indy.
That been said, several players including me are wondering who is in charge of the clan as well that who do proceed on recruitment.
My apologies to those currently waiting for a response on their application to the IMG. As for the rest of your questions and concerns, I've sent you a request over skype so that we can have a discussion about your thoughts and ideas for increasing activity. Our current leader is Encheta Shimoa, who is currently finishing up his higher education, and working.
