The last time I used torpedos on discovery was the time when the server had steady lags, so I was like "yeah probably because of the lag". But yesterday I tried them out again, and it had the same problem.
So my question is. Are the torpedos nerfed on discovery? I mean maybe its just me but the launch is delayed a bit. After pushing the launch torpedo button, the torpedo just "stands" in one spot, waits a few seconds before starting to move. I tried to them in a pvp but dunno. They seemed absolutely useless, no wonder nobody uses them. The damage of them is buffed compared to the vanilla, but still this doesn't changes much. Instead there is the minirazor which has even more damage, has 370m/s speed and cannot be CD-d or CM-d. In my opinion, players who are using a fighterweapon with such a damage should have a chance to kill/damage himself with it if not used properly, or if the opponent uses the cd and times it right. But I'm not a modder so this wont change.
So, do torpedos suck on purpose or is this related to the server?

torpedos - the smaller ones were too easy to use ( well, mostly cause enemies are often too lazy to adjust their tactics ) - and so they take a little while till they start moving.
Torpedoes can strip you off weapons.
Novas destroy capital ship weapons because they do splash damage.
They're also able to kill somebody 'randomly' due to 100 M explosion range.
Torpedoes here do have a launch delay to keep them sorta ballanced in PVP battles against fighters
as to the torpedoes vs razor thing....Torpedoes have alot of advantages, like the fact that they are guided and strip weapons and thrusers off a ship in 2 or 3 hits

Well If you have a cd, you can blow up the torpedoes in your opponent's face.
Against a minirazor, well the best thing you can do is to dodge and hoping it wont hit you. It has better speed, better damage and runs without ammo.
If torpedoes would have a lot of advantages, more people would use them. Good PvP-ers wont use'em, not even average ones, only people who are new here and think that torpedoes are actually usefull

Because its a vanilla weapon, and used to make a lot of fun : ))
and the current torpedo forces people to not use them at all. I know this is Discovery but, vanilla weapons should not be forgotten.

I can land a lot more cheapshots with razor on my opponent than with torpedoes. If we are talking about balance, weapons with a huge damage should be cd-able cm-able. (like the razor or inferno)
I like torpedos. Much more than huge energy guns (which don't make much sense on a fighter, in my opinion). Torpedos are THE siege/capship killer weapon, since the dawn of naval warfare. There's a reason if they were implemented in the vanilla game.
Always in my humblest personal opinion, the launch delay makes absolutely no sense. The torpedo is already slow (as it is supposed to be anyway), and it has the additional risk of blowing in your face. Why nerf it even more?
