Hey I just had a weird thing happen. I took off from Freeport 9, which is a friendly Zoners base, flew to Omega-74 and was immediately attacked. By the Zoners! Why are they friendly in Omicron Theta and hostile in Omega-74?
Well, I m not sure the only thing I could think of is that you fired a CD. I accidentally fired and exploded a CD in Cambridge once and everyone became hostile to me. The explosion radius must of hit a station or something.
No, I just went through the jump hole and was instantly surrounded by hostile ships and weapons platforms. I did however, dispatch a Bounty Hunter who had tried to poach my cargo after I left Freeport 9. Maybe that shifted my alliances. But after I came back from Omega 74, Freeport 9 was still friendly, which is.....quite strange.
*sighs* Unless you are full green to regular Zoners, the Zoners in omicron-74 will always hate you. They are the Zoner Guard, and defend the Zoner home system, which happens to be Omicron-74. Be ye warned...
I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.
RP Story (Still deciding whether or not to finish)
Yupp, that's the case for all Guard systems.
By the way, a weird thing happened to me in Omicron 74 once - I couldn't dock on the base!
At least not by simply clicking on "dock", the ship flew circles and finally tried flying right through the hull of the base. Finally, I managed to land by going right next to the dock-point and clicking on dock again.
So, it is possible, but I think maybe that ought to be fixed in a future release...?
By the way, the ship was a Spatial, so maybe it was the size... I wonder how cap-ships are supposed to dock there, though.
It's been fixed when Dab designed the system, at least I think.

Thanks Best. Now I have to decide whether it's worthwhile to pay a bribe to improve my relations with the Zoners. Is there anything worth buying in there....like say a nifty class 9 or 10 gun?

Is there a list somewhere of the other Guard systems and who guards them?
You can get pretty much all of that by clicking on a given system in Datastorm and seeing if there's a base there. If there is, it's probably a guard system.
On a similar note, who's mission's should I be losing to align myself with the Outcast Guard?

I would bet corsairs, if you want the Outcasts/Outcast Guard to like you. I found out, if you take 1 bribe for the faction that has a guard, you will become neutral with the guard for that faction and green for the main faction.
My suggestion is, get straight to the faction you want to align yourself with and get a bribe, cause that way you wont screw up your other reps.
